Those miniatures are mostly for lonely male nerd teens and adults. Exaggerated sexy female bodies appeal to them and sell miniatures.
GW has almost no good female sculpts, others have plenty. Some are close to manga aestetics (Soda Pop, Shadowforge), some are quite realistic (Infinity, Dark Sword). So you find female miniatures for a wide range of tastes.

I understand sex sells, but it means almost none of the female minis on the market can be used in my guard army. They just don't look real, I give real kudos to the exceptions.

You've fallen into the meme of "What use is this model in 40K?"

If you want proper female figures for IG, write to GW and tell them.

Most IG armies don't look real themselves, to be honest, thanks to the GW so-called "heroic" scale.
