Ultras, cos every army of them looks the same, people go "by the book" and try no varients. Shame cos a well painted army can look great but once you've seen one.....

Whitescars = worthless ... all those bike and sch are tactically completely inviable in any dense terrain (both in game terms and fluff)

I can't stank the DA. Their whole hang up on the fallen over everything else is just irritating. I am a HUGE Salamanders fan!

Space wolves. To hokey to be believed, but I am a big fan of Bjorn the Fellhanded to this day, as that model is one of the first models I saw back when I was 14 and first getting into fantasy gaming, and it made me want to play SW so bad.

UM are a distant second, but I'm cool with most other chapters.

Smurfs. A bit too blue for me.

I like BA, BT and Sals though.

White scars basically Mongols or hells angels turned into space marines there supposed to be space marines not super biker gangs of the future. Just my opinion

Since i was a child...

most hated: ultra marines. how many special characters do they have? alot (dont have the codex in front of me to see). if you want something specific, they have a special character to do just that. why do all the other vanilla codex chapters just get one special character. i think GW just had alot of blue paint and space marines laying around and some one said (matt ward most likely), "we need to come up with something where we can sell all this blue paint.

I'm an Ultramarines fan. Always have been. They don't toot their own horns at all as far as I know. It is other space marine Chapters who claim to want to be like the Ultras... and it is the fans of the uber-ominous Chapters who chant the mantra of hate for the 'smurfs'.

The smurfs are dogmatic in the face of anihilation of the human species and come across as butt-holes at times which is understandable in that context. They have come to rely on their dogma to survive because it works. Other Chapters know this and strive to follow their example.

I personally never liked the space vampires and the space beserkers. They are completely trite and even a bit infantile imho. I understand that many Chapter motifs are needed in order to highlight their individuality. Unfortunately, GW felt they needed to dredge these particular ideas from pop culture which loves the vampire/werewolf kinda thing. Just look at the tons of vampire and werewolf movies that were made in the 80's, 90's and 00's.

The argument many use to hate the smurfs is that they're kinda 'bland' (not uber-ominous and anti-authoritarian enough). To me though this is like the goths or punks back in the day that dressed to be different, fight the establishment and stand out in the crowd only to go hang out with 50 other people with the same idea who looked exactly alike. Makes no sense, but it's human nature.

Never liked Space Wolves, I see marines as more elite, and having an elitist attitude, Wolves don't seem to fit that. Plus crazy wolf loving space vikings isn't my thing. I certainly don't HATE them.

I like Salamander's a lot, a bunch of onyx colored pyromaniacs.

Iron Hands and Raven Guard are high up there for me too.

Space Wolves, followed by Blood Angels, followed by (crying tears of pain) New GKs... Ward killed them.

The armies' armory sections are becoming so redundant and annoying: Wolfy wolf wolf, Blood this and blood that, and (again crying) DOOOOOOOMFISTS and Nemesis Force ____.

I voted Blood Angels because I think their fluff is done better with Eldar or Emperor's Children (in terms of pursuit of perfection). The Blood Angel's pursuit is boring-maybe if it was something other than overcoming Vampirism it would be acceptable, but they are just stupid.

I used to play Wolves, but after finding out they decided to ride Wolves (which are apparently tougher than a Space Marine except for the lack of armor) and reading the two SW-centric Heresy novels they are a close second.

Worst to best IMHO:
Dark Angels: they suck. bad. Secret this secret that blablabla

Ultrasmurfs, they are like that dude in every class who follows the rules, does his homework, and doesn't have any friends.

BA-Omnibus ruined them for me

Iron Hands-They Emo so hard that they accidentally cut off thier arms and need to replace them

White Scars- Mongol bikers from the future. OOO scary.

Space Wolves- I like wolves, but nothing else about them appeals to me.

Salamanders: They're pretty cool, but I prefer plasma to fire. And I don't like green.

Raven Guard: Elite warriors made from shadows who destroy everything and can out-ninja scouts. Plus I like lightning claws (go Shrike!)

Imperial Fists: The whole concept of standing your ground and annihilating anything that comes near with huge siege weaponry appeals to me IMMENSELY. Also, going into battle wearing bright-yellow requires man-parts like grape fruits. Add Lysander and Sigismund to that equation, and you'll see why I chose them

I can't decide between the Smurfs, the Vampires, the Secret keepers and the Biker gang; they're all as bad as each other to me.

Ultramarines are definitely my least favorite as they seem to be blander then the others. Being the 'best' I guess is what makes them boring. They have some cool characters and I think that there is a darker side to Guilliman. He was quite cool in 'The First Heretic'. They just don't appeal to me really.

Before anyone goes around quoting Matt Ward, just know that not all of us Ultrasmurf fans can stand that fecker.

And why so much hate with the Ultras? We don't toot our own horn, (except for in the recent Codex, but hey, should we all be subject to the sins of Ward?) and we're not bland just because we don't have ZOFMFG WULF VIHIKING FECHKIN BRUHTAL MAHN.

1. They follow the word of the rule, and don't break said rules ever.

2. They are bland and predictable "Run the Phalanx position, it says so in ma book" (this was exploited by Honsou in The Chapter's Due.)

3. They imitate, but don't innovate. While this could be said for the IoM as a whole, they typify it. They can't disobey the Codex Astartes. They just can't.

4. They make everything gold. Gold trim, Gold Insignia, Gold stylization blah blah blah sounds a bit like the Emperor's Children.

5. They have like what, 4,5 special characters? All the other noteworthy chapters only get one. (btw I kno that this is Matt Ward's fault, but it ticks me off.) I weep for my Fists, Lysander is all alone...I WANT A VLADMIR PUGH MINI!

Why am I not surprised to see Ultramarines get the most votes.

obsessive about appearance, totally Khornate in battle and they go so far as to drink their enemies blood in battle.

Favourite legion is the dark angels. Ravenwing, deathwing and the fact that only one character in a giant jetbike has EW.
