Well I have some updates.
1. Found out I am now allergic to superglue. Had a pretty bad reaction after spending a couple hours gluing some devastators. So now I will wear my mask when using glue.
2. Started assembling my Skyhammer devastators. I have enough tactical marines to build a marine for every weapon in the two boxes of Devs. The Grav cannons and heavy bolters will be part of the White Scar Skyhammer force, the plasma cannons will go to my Dark Swords ( DA successors ) and the rest will supplement my Silver Skulls.
3. I added a big ass table to the hobby room for display and play testing purposes.
4. Realised I totally screwed up and based my devs before I washed them. So not sure how I am going to was them now without messing up the basing.

Wow, sorry to hear about the allergy situation. That's a tough one to have with the hobby, is it just the fumes? Or do you react to touch as well.

Just the fumes. So wearing a mask will prevent reaction. But looking to see if there are glues that don't cause reaction as well. Which I have seen may be available.

With space marine legs and torsos you get 24 devastators out pf two dev boxes.

Yeah there should be. All of them come with bare heads. I hate bare heads. So I will probably put skull masks on all of the masters since they are captains or other appropriate badass helmets.

Long time no hobby. But a recent Armageddon themed apoc game got me to start painting my IG allied detachment.
Unfortunately I only got basic base coats in time for the game but am continuing to work on them.

Looking for input on how much metallic detail to do. Wanting to keep it minimal but wondering about the vents on top of hull... Should I do them metallic or just weather/chip them good? (Haven't got to tracks yet, they will be heavily weathered metal) Any Constructive Criticism welcome at this stage.

NOT 100% satisfied with the result but overall I think they look better. I haven't quite mastered the sponge. I am wondering if I should go back in with some metallic in the center of some of the bigger splotches...

That or add some transfers. I had the same issue with my Elysian aircraft being a monotone sand, even with the egg blue underbelly and the weathering.
Just my suggestion.

You can always cut little nicks into your transfers before putting them in water...that will help with the late addition missing the weathering.
The ones you have added have started to break up the large mono-tone scheme.

So my plan is to responge or do chipping with a brush over the decals to blend them back in. Right now the only decals I'm waiting on are some 1/48 Tiger II decals to get the Iron Crosses. The crosses will go on the front-right side of the turrets.
Basically got all three to the same stage tonight.

Had to comment here, to say that I really like your work on the Silver Skulls. And that you can paint your minis how you want regardless of others self-imposed rules and blunt opinions and posting style. I thought the gold, or brass, was rather good.
Liking the Guardsmen too, but the little conversions on the Marines are what make this army.
How long did you find it took for delivery from maxmini? I ordered some stuff from them for the first time recently and just curious.

Thank you. The first attempt I was actually really unhappy with. Now they look much better.

Thanks. Well I haven't ordered from them in a couple years. So I don't rightly recall but I think it was about two weeks. I will have to look at ordering from them again when I start doing more squads of Silver Skulls. I need to get that full company and will need more bits, mainly the awesome helmets.
