Nah. I don't buy this theory. It requires too much thinking and malevolence on GW's part. GW is corrupt, but corruption doesn't always breed evil or underhanded acts, it usually just breeds complacency and incompetence (something GW has in spades).

The sink.

I have an idea. Don't sell your huge, painted army on a knee jerk reaction to something in White Dwarf. Just shelve it and wait for the real codex.

That way, GW doesn't get any extra money, except for the new codex, which will probably cost $40 or so.

Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

Having seen the first half of the new Codex, I'm satisfied. Saying that, I'm one of the few people who chooses an army because they like it, rather than go by the whining and complaining of people on an internet forum.

I hope the sisters codex isn't terrible. I really want to see them be competitive again. Its just GW doesn't care about its fan base ever it seems like.

Mabye a reason why the units are so weak, is because the are fearing (strong i know) the repocussions from the matt ward - gate

edit: though this argument would require GW to care for its costomers.

Son you can insult me, you can ambush me, you can even take away my weapons. But if you think im going to step one single pinky toe inside blue base with out my SHOTGUN... you must not know who you dealing with.

Adam Smith disagrees with you.

The two are basically the same thing.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Er, GW is a company that isn't so good at making a profit. They are most certainly not corrupt. A corrupt company would be breaking laws. You are doing exactly what you accuse the OP of, attributing active malevolence to poor business model.

Anyway, OP, here's a rather vast hole in your argument: every sister model sold on ebay is a sister that will not be purchased when the codex comes out. GW will never, ever encourage people to sell their models, because every model sold secondhand is a model not bought from GW. As far as profit is concerned, a model sold secondhand is essentially a duplicate given away free with the original purchase.

Pretty solid foundation for any theory regarding GW business practices.
