I dunno boys, to me, you can afford it or you can't, you want it or you don't. FW prices are what they are... Don't get me wrong, I wish they were cheaper too, but saying 'rip off kings' seems a bit much...
Example: I would love a nice Ferrari. I do not call them rip-off kings just because I can't afford one. It is a luxury product, I recognize that... the price is not just reflective of the materials and labor, you are also paying for prestige and luxury. If you are willing to pay, then that is how much it is worth...

May as well put the Latest Forge World Newsletter here:
Hi there,
With Games Day UK looming on the horizon, we’ve got more exclusive pre-release items to announce today. As with the other exclusive releases we’ve revealed in the last few days, these will be on sale at Games Day UK in limited numbers.
Imperial Armour Apocalypse Second Edition on sale at Games Day UK
First announced at Games Day Chicago back in July, we can now confirm that the brand new Imperial Armour Apocalypse Second Edition Expansion book will be available to buy in limited numbers at Games Day UK, priced at £26.
This book substantially updates and expands the first edition of Imperial Armour Apocalypse with 32 new entries, and is packed with over 90 Apocalypse datasheets for Legendary units such as the mighty Crassus Armoured Assault Transport to the fell Daemon Lords of Chaos. Also included are new Forge World units for Warhammer 40,000 including the Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought and its variants, and the Dark Eldar Tantalus.
This 128 page, full-colour hardback book provides comprehensive and updated descriptions and rules for using all of Forge World’s recent additions to its model range in your games of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse. Within you’ll also find new Apocalypse battle missions to play including ‘The Lion and the Hawk’, ‘Shattered City’ and ‘Fortress Assault’, as well as lots of new options and background to enhance your games.
Imperial Armour Apocalypse Second Edition is available to pre-order now for despatch from the 30th of September.
Imperial Emplacement
Adding to our new range of hollow resin scenery is the Imperial Emplacement, designed by Blake Spence. This is a detailed free-standing terrain piece that will be on sale at Games Day UK in limited numbers, well in advance of its scheduled release date.
Designed as an emplacement for almost any size of Warhammer 40,000 vehicle, from Chimeras and Leman Russ to Macharius and Malcador-based super heavy tanks, and even the mighty Baneblade, the Imperial Emplacement features a wealth of detail such as ammunition stowage, unexploded munitions, a targeting cogitator and an observer’s position. The base of the Imperial Emplacement has been reinforced with trench plates to act as duckboards, and the scenery piece also features plenty of space for crew models as well as vehicles.
Ideal for use as both a gaming piece to fight battles over or the basis of a detailed diorama, the Imperial Emplacement will cost £22.
Forge World and Warhammer Forge Studio
The ever-popular Forge World Studio area will have even more amazing displays, artwork, concept sketches and work-in-progress projects for you to admire at this year’s Games Day - our entire design team will be on hand, split across three areas, allowing you better access to talk to our talented designers and to see some amazing, as yet unseen miniatures. The Studio team have also been hard at work creating a totally new display board for this year’s Games Day, showcasing part of the Eldar assault upon Betalis III that will be detailed in the forthcoming Imperial Armour Volume 11: The Doom of Mymeara.
On the subject of books, jaw-droppingly detailed models are only one half of the Forge World range. We also have a dedicated Book Design team who are responsible for the colour profiles, layout, artwork, photographic art, star maps, page textures – everything that makes an Imperial Armour or Warhammer Forge book the masterpiece it is. Graphic Artists Ian Strickland, Rhys Pugh, Kenton Mills and Sam Lamont will be showcasing their work and explaining exactly what goes into laying out a book, and they may even have their high-tech cogitators with them so you can see this work in action. The chance to see a piece of artwork being worked on ‘live’ cannot be missed!
Games Day Italy Reservations now being taken
With Games Day Italy, held at the Forum Guido Monzani in Modena on 16th October, rapidly approaching, we are now accepting reservation orders for this event. This is the best way of ensuring that we will have exactly the models you’re looking for, packed up and waiting for you to pay for on the day.

I dunno,
I think we are seeing a direct reaction from Forge World to all of the alternative kits that have been directed towards Heresy Era players. Remember a while back they said they would not do any Heresy Era stuff..
In the past few months FW has released some products directly correlating to third-party bit companies products..
All of the Heresy Armors
Heresy Era Jump Packs
Salamander Power Armor Shoulder Pads (tongue in cheek here)
and the MK1(C) Rhino Conversion kit I still think the C stands for Chapterhouse
Interesting to say the least and wonder if it will have any sort of impact on the ongoing legal case.

Well if GW bring it up... you could subpoena the records of these projects start dates.
This is why competition and capitalism works... the presence of other participators in their market has enticed them to produce the products people have been asking for... that is a good thing.

Interesting to say the least and wonder if it will have any sort of impact on the ongoing legal case.
Here's the difference:
Your Rhino Conversion kit looks like crap compared to this one. And they're the same price after all is said and done after you'd buy the rhino seperately to build it.
And if you really want to bring this up: Every FW model that has a Chapterhouse equivalent makes the CH ones look like crap. I really like the new Eldar Aspect chick, I like the Chimera conversion kit, but the marine stuff is, at best mediocre. I've purchased a few things from Chapterhouse. My Salamanders Rhino kit was garbage. It was a really disappointing purchase, as the resin was low quality and the sculping on the 'scales' was poor. I purchased the Doomsayer and really like that model.
Also, remember that GAMES WORKSHOP OWNS THE INTELLLECTUAL PROPERTY TO THESE THINGS. You bring up the legal issue so ignorantly here; GW can't infringe upon their IP. GW has the rights to produce things based on their protected artwork. GW isn't making any attempts to profit off of the original ideas of Chapterhouse Studios. Chapterhouse studios, despite what the nebulous lawsuit or claims may say, is attemping to profit off another company's IP. Your arrogance towards the matter is only furthered by this post.
I'll pay the extra few bucks every time for comparable kits, becuase the Forge World ones take a steaming crap on the Chapterhouse ones.

Taking a look at FWs pre-order page for Imperial Armour Apocalypse Second Edition, you can see that there are different rules for a Blood Angels Contemptor and a Space Wolves one, I wonder how many different Chapter specific rules there are going to be? I'm really excited to read through this book, it will also help me determine when and which one to buy!

They likely will reveal it at GD. They are, after all, bringing a new display board to GDUK themed around IA11.
I wouldn't hold my breath on the trench sections though.

That bit of terrain looks very...flat, I preferred the old basilisk emplacement because it had some height to it. I think a sandbag/duckboard bitz set would have been a better idea (even though I could probably make both things myself with little trouble).

It's an emplacement for digging in armored vehicles. The height can only be so much so that the weapons on the vehicles can fire and traverse appropriately, and of course it's going to be flat simply because the vehicle has to be able to roll up into it or back out of it as necessary.
Anyways, this is going to be a "must buy" for me simply because anything can likely fit on that.
Earthshaker Emplacements, Manticore Emplacements, a field HQ, a Baneblade...
The possibilities are making me quite, quite happy. As nice as the Basilisk Emplacement was, there was very little leeway with it.

I'd assume because they're happy with the 'standard' XV-9 rules from IAA2.
This book is basically a revision of Imperial Armour Apocalypse(the first one), with whatever else Forge World has felt needed its rules updated or included.

*looks over contents* Hmm... sandwiched between the CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT and the Praetor Armoured Assault Launcher is something I've not heard of before: The Dominus Armoured Siege Bombard. Now there's the Bombard (conspicuously absent from the FW webstore), and then there's this. Any difference? Additionally we have 4 different Comtemptor Dreads, plus the rules for the Chaos version. We have only 3 of the 4 Greater Daemons, the Wraithseer and Phantom Titan are included and, surprisingly, the Spore Chimney is still there - hope for a furture re-release or re-imagining?
