Ahh, you're right. I always mix that one up for some reason. Even when I think it is strength, I second guess myself and go with weapon skill again.

Uh, no? Artificer armor is more rare than terminator armor, harder to make, more valuable, and certainly not 'lesser'. It gives the same protection minus the weak force field, but gives greatly enhanced mobility over terminator armor, which in this case is put to great use by Dante with his JP and non scattering DS. You act like Dante couldn't take a suit of TDA if he wanted, the guy is a thousand years old and head of one of the most respected chapters. That and it's much harder to put nipples on TDA.

Honestly, I'd probably never use anything but Dante and a Librarian if Dante had Eternal Warrior...and that's likely exactly why they didn't give it to him. He'd be an auto-include for a lot of people. Seven master-crafted S5 I7 attacks on the charge when with banner HG, Hit & Run, no-scatter deep striking, Nipplewing, and his herpes plague on an enemy IC of your choice. The only thing keeping him from being the best HQ buy in the codex is the fact that he can fall over when confronted with a powerfist, same as everybody else.

I think the main issue with Dante is the same issue people get with most Jump infantry:

-He has good saves but a low Toughness that makes him vulnerable to ID. And being jump infantry, you can't stick his unit in cover if things get hairy or you'll risk losing models to terrain. (Lots more jump inf should have skilled flyer, -especially- BA ones!)

-The termicide effect. Dante and his boys have an amazing shot at whatever they land close to, but after that they will spend a whole turn sitting there and neatly bunched up. Expect to eat battlecannons, devastator shells, plasma cannon and whatever long-range blasts the enemy can lob at you. Can be circumvented by careful use, but sometimes there'll be no good options.

-Price: Models in Dante's price range tend to be CC monsters such as Abaddon, Mephiston and Logan. While Dante is no slouch, he's not the kind of HQ that you can toss at -anything- and not sweat. He requires more finesse, which turns people off.

But it must be great to see him give Draigo BA Herpes.
