I think, rules wise, Dante is the worts main chapter master. Main chapter master means the CM of the main chapter in the codex. So Calgar, Grimnar, the DA one, Draigo, Dante, Helbretch.


He doesn't have EW, which is what he should have, because they all have it. He doesn't have an Orbital Bombardment.

He doesn't wear Terminator armour.


I haven't included Seth and Kantor here. They are just extra bits for those who don't want a Blood Angel, BA army, or an Ultra amrine C:SM army.

To be fair Grimnar doesn't have orbital bombardment either.

A) dante having an orbital bombardment counter acts the fact he has a jet pack and should not be standing still.

B) you can't have terminator armour and a jet pack.

C) IIRC the DA "GRAND MASTER" does not have tda or eternal warrior, neither does helbrech.

D) ignoring kantor and seth is silly they are chapter masters are they not?

D.5) isn't the khan also a chapter master?

E) if you want to complain about dante try his rules are very lack luster, no scatter would be nice if all units with jet packs didn't already scatter only 1d6.

Yeah, ask to see his Codex, and look to see if Grimnar has OB. I am certain he doesn't.

MY local GW is beside my busstop. I can look at a codex when I am coming home from school. I looked at the rules once and was pretty sure I saw that rule. Hmmm....

Calgar doesn't have Terminator armor. He CAN buy it, but he doesn't come with it automatically. Plus he doesn't have the option of taking a jump pack.

When have you ever sdeen someone take Calgar without TDA? Too easy to kill other wise, plus the unique banner bearer yoiu get with him.

dante doesn't need teminator armor. he already has 2+/4++ thanks to his artificer armor and iron halo

The sanguinor basicaslly overshadows Dante. Dante is a 1 use tank killer.

Dante is also a cheap cowardly bastard. He only fights other SCs or HQs when they are suffering from colds.



The only thing that Dante should have that he doesn't is EW. So now you have to use his superior mobility to avoid those P-fists. Shock! You can't just run him forward and mash into anything.

Dante is awesome. Cost effective and useful for nipplewing.

My dante always misses with his pistol though...

Even though Space Marines do not need another Codex, I would kill for a Space Marine Hamster Codex.

He's got a 2+/4++sv while able to move 12" a turn and DS without scatter (other CM's are far slower and require pods or teleport homers for DS capability and safety), has virtual auto-pass Hit and Run which he gives to his squad, and has a melta-pistol to help pop tanks and ID other characters, and automatically flubbs one opposing IC for the entirety of the battle, and makes a powerful Elites unit Troops. Methinks you're not taking a good look at this guy

Neither Hellbrecht or Azrael have EW.

He doesn't have an Orbital Bombardment.

Neither does Azrael, Grimnar, Draigo or Hellbrecht.

He doesn't wear Terminator armour.

Can't fly around being super mobile in Terminator armor. Hellbrecht and Azrael doesn't sport Termi armor either. Regardless, he's still got a 2+sv and a 4+ invul, so what difference does it make?

Compared to Logan and Calgar, and Draigo, he isn't up to scratch. Helbretch looks like he is wearinfg some pretty heavy armour.

The reason I have said this is because in a relatively recent apoc game, turn 6. I took command of a Stompa asnd charged Dante with its TCCW. Killed him in 1 shot. Hit with about 3 attacks and he failed a save.


Before he could do anything.

For exactly 1500 points, Dante can use surgical strike to deepstrike Lemartes and 30 Death Company with jump packs, 3 with power fists, anywhere on the board where they can fit. Then they can use Hit and Run.
