Personally, I like playing a whack-a-mole style list at 1500pts.

I usually avoid vulkan at such low point totals, but I hope it works out for you.

I still think you should powerfist in with the Strenguard.

It can be in a sqaud that has a chance to do anything.

Sternguard should be shooting and not worrying about fighting in cc.

25pts on a pf won't really mean diddly in cc vs anything but a dread and then it won't mean that much.

Also, what are the differences between the LC and PW?

I like PFs in a Tac squad. They're a neat kind of 'guaranteed' wound (if you survive to make an attack). Plus they're cool for a 'just in case' type of thing like if you get caught in combat with something like the Avatar or a Demon Prince or other high strength things. And they look wicked boss.

LCs can reroll to wound I believe.

PDF are good, they mean that if you come up against a Wraithlord or C'tan, you can hurt them, and kill most other things. If you come up against a walker, then Melta Bombs are going to only hit on 6+. Useful



LC are power wounds that reroll to wound. PF double strength and reduce to Int 1.

PFs are pretty useless when you have Combat Tactics, when you use Vulkan they arent that great but taking them does have some merit. With a character that gives you stubborn instead it turns into a somewhat necessary equipment, which is why I stay away from ICs that gives you stubbron...

Anyway, the list really lacks long ranged AT. It does so because you have taken some heavy point sinks.

At 1500pts Vulkan is not always a good choice. In your list he doesnt really TL much so a Libby would most certainly give you more bang for your buck.

You can not afford to take 3 tactical squads if you want to cram in both Sternguards and Hammernators in a Vulkan list, that one is certain. Also, the points on the sternguard is incorrect

I understand what my list is lacking. I was going for a fluffy list, so from the get-go I understood that it would not be long range. The ML's in 2 of the Tac Squads were put in there to help out with that a bit. Not much, but something. I can also use the TL-assault cannons on the LRR.

And I am still getting the same points on the Sternies.

Then you are either missing the EA on the RB or the LC on the sarge would be my guess. The way they are listed the correct cost is 220pts. As for the list, if you are going for a "fluffy" list then I dont think there is much to do besides dropping one tactical squad to give you some more damage output

And I think he is not crazy expensive. Twin links flamers, heavy flamers, meltas and multi-meltas, and makes TH better.

Not to mention he has a 2+ armor save, 3+ invul save, a relic blade, and besides the armor saves, captain stats.

Not too shabby.

A master crafted Relic Blade, and the same save as Lysander or Hammernators, for 10pts less than either. As well as the abilty to sweep. And has Frag Grendaes. And is only 1 model for Transport.

I tried it again, and am still getting 205 points.

Here is a breakdown
Razorback - 55 points
Sternies - 150 points
TOTAL - 205

I would post the costs for everything, but I can't.

A statement that can't possibly be so basically true; his worth is dependant on the list he is in (how much his abilities are put to use, since you are paying for them).
