Not if you take the character which removes the limit.
I have a question for the BA vs IG.... which list would win?
I'll go with IG in most cases and not only because they're the army I play. They have an absurd amount of anti- MEQ firepower, particularly if they take Banewolves, and I think that even the BA would have somewhat of a problem with that amount of bodies on the field thrown against them.
dreadfury101 wrote:to the IG max, did you add Commisar Yarrick 185Points
Not worth it. Taking Yarrick means not taking a CCS, which is much, much, much more expensive.

Either your math is wrong or Army Builders is. I used virtually the same list but replaced Scorpions with 5 WG and a Lock in a WS which is more expensive and came out 99pts lower. You might see where an error is that I have though.
Either way Eldar cross 5k and then some.
Total Roster Cost: 8118
You're not supposed to post individual points of upgrades.
On another note, I may have added something wrong, but I did notice that you didn't spirit seer your jetlock council warlocks. That right there cost you 120 points. I'll go back through and see if I miscalculated though.
Yup, just checked out both of our list's math. Both are spot on, you just forgot the spirit seer on those jetlocks like I mentioned. Everything else for us both checks out.
So are splitting Eldar hairs but 8238 final Eldar max?
I forgot that AB dropped individual costs. When I get home I'll edit them out, but at least it helped you find the disconnect.
@ the guy who hated to break it to BA players that DC are 0-1. Anytime you call out a whole group of players it's besc to read the codex first. Everyone trips over thier...erm...swords every once in a while.

As high as I could go with GK.
You need a inquisitor for each Henchman unit, or Coteaz, so this list would be invalid. The 10536 list is the best you can do with GKs. They have expensive troops, but all units are a maximum of 10 guys, which hamstrings you for this exercise.

No they can't they can only take them if they un equip the jump packs. Exact qoute from codex under the death Company entry reads 'Dedicated transport: If the squad does not have jump packs, it can select any dedicated transport (see page 90). So I cannot give them Land Raiders as dedicated transports.

I just double checked the Eldar math in Excell, and we indeed max out at 8238. We just can't take enough units like the Council, and being limited to 399 points per troop choices slows us down considerably. Anyway It would be really fun to see the "infinite lesser daemons" chaos list play against one of the other big hitters, IG or BA. The game would depend entirely on chaos icons. Since there are infinite deamons, infinite of them would arrive from reserve. Since they can only be placed within 6 inches of an Icon, what this means is that essentially every turn reserves are available, As many squads of Lesser Daemons as can be fit within 6 inches of the various Icons will be deployed... Thus by targeting the Icons you could lower the number of Deamons deployed each turn... Blood Angels would have a lot more trouble, as the Rage rules make DC incredibly vulnerable to screens upon screens of Lesser Daemons...

Yup, Eldar are on the low end.
Although, you could argue that Warlocks in the Wraithguard squad are technically allowed Jetbikes. The intent of the rule is pretty clear that they can't, but "Mount all warlocks in the unit on jetbikes" seems like it applies to every Warlock, not just the council. So, we could get another 180 points...

Eldar are on the low end of filling out the FoC with ridiculous high point choices. But lesbianist once you get that high you will probably move into Apoc rules. Plus all the choices in Eldar are pretty even across the FoC. I can't remember exactl numbers but a full guardian jetbike squad with cannons and warlock is 300 plus. The most unbalanced choice is the heavy support platforms, too cheap y'all. I'm guessing the next codex will push The model count up and open end the FoC a little.

I almost tried taking kitted-out dreadnoughts, but they were still cheaper than the vet squads. And while Devastator squads come out to 450 points when totally loaded up, the bonus techmarines only come in with vehicles, making each land raider effectively 660 points a piece. Your mileage may vary, of course...

Yeah you can't give wriathguard a WS if they number more than 5. The upshot in a real list is that a WS can carry 5 WG and two other characters.

If you take 9 warriors one with a HVC with max upgrades in a pod they come out at 610.
Also one shrike can have a HVC too. I think your calcs may be off Solo, 9 were coming in at 585 for me?
Also 3 Zoans in a pod with weapon are 240 bettering the Ymgarls by 10!

Immolator- same as above (121)
Very low points value. I did notice that the highest cost weapons loadouts tend to be the most popular ones in previous codexes. Heh. That, and the list would be absolutely ridiculous. Bloated squads that couldn't come anywhere close to fitting in their transports, and sergeants/hqs running around double-fisting weapons that they couldn't even use together. At least it would be funny to see. Priests waving around a giant eviscerator in each hand, cowboy sisters with 2 plasma pistols, and rambo sisters with a crossbow/bolter in each hand. I can hear the maniacal laughter now...
I don't see any prohibitions in the codex against taking two eviscerators, but I can't remember if there was anything said about it in the main rulebook. I can switch things around if necessary, but it'd lose 30 points in the deal.

The 10536 list is the best you can do with GKs. They have expensive troops, but all units are a maximum of 10 guys, which hamstrings you for this exercise.
correction:
10905 is the highest you can go with GKs.
Drop
Mordrak and his posse
Add
=I= Karamazov
Henchman squad
10 jokero
1 warriors w/ Meltabombs, power armour, hotshot laser, power fist
1 warriors w/ Meltabombs, power armour, 2x power fist
RazBack w/ all the toys
(Henchman count as elites but do not take up slots in the force org, p 90)
