Yes but rippers, gaunts and carnifexs are just animals. Only synapse creatures are conscience in a sentient way. There isn't one brain floating around between these breeds like you described. That's why you need synapse creatures to keep your gaunts on track.

Yeah Dark Eldar have this problem where theiy vampirism is not like food, but an addictive drug. They don't need a certain ammount of pain calories a day, they need more and more of it each time they experience the suffering of others. To the point where vect needs like a whole star system destryoed to get him feeling young again.
So eldar for me. I would probably end up being a corsair though, so I could do fun things but have a soul stone.

If they're a hivemind, wouldn't that mean its a collective consciousness? So you wouldn't be a single tyranid organism but all of them at once.

Yes, the synapse ones. So if your a nid you're either a dog or a god.

I'm starting to understand what you mean. Don't know why I was so stubborn before actually.
The lesser Tyranid are just shells of biomass. When they are in synapse range the hive mind is more or less possessing a puppet. Without the hove mind they are useless and just do whatever they want. Void of a purpose.

It's cool.
Anyway, I guess I'd go for Eldar they are the most free. The path system is versatile and each path dabbled in is like an entire human life.

Eldar, and get to run around being an Aspet warrior, because get the choice.
Freedom of choice, no qualifictions needed, lots of promotion options( Autarch should you survive) and freely switching between jobs, mayb e even being a Seer for a bit.
Bad isdes is you can become an Exarch. Exarchs maybe sacrifised to awaken Khaine's Avatra, whic is asolutely agnising. However, you do get a god you can serve, and fight beside and become part of. Unlike modern religon.
Or you may even become a Pheonix Lord.

Eldar.
Only drawback is that a lot of an Eldar's choices are governed by knowledge and fear of what you might become. Loss and gain are felt more keenly, and both are actually dangerous.
Personally, I'd spend time on Path of the Dreamer. I value enlightenment and peace as well as the freedom of thought, if not action - only Eldar can offer this.
To walk the path of the warrior is to escape pain, guilt, or grief, it is to handle regret and drown in anger. Only at the end of the path will you find what you are looking for.

Ancient Venerable Dreadnought
Thousand Sons Battleship wandering the galaxy...
|
Imperium of Man. I might just get recruited into a Space Marine Chapter, otherwise I'd convert to the Mechanicus and join the Titan Legions. Who knows? I might just get to pilot a Warlord-class Titan someday. "Hey, you puny Tau! Scream a little louder! I can't hear you from up here!". Or, even better might have the honor of being interred in a Dreadnought. "I have come to desstroy you, xenoss...".
Of course a tech-priest would say I shouldn't show such 'organic' emotions, but would privately commend me for showing disdain for the alien.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.
'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.' |
