Eldar ... Paths would be a drag, and living in a very monk like society would severely hamper your freedom, but a craftworld probably offers the safest, most educated places for a civilian to be born in 40K...

Eldar are more than free to do whatever they feel they need to, they just need to be away from their Craftworld while exploring these things to limit Chaos and Warp influence on the city-ship. In fact, that's what the Rangers and Pathfinders are. And should a ranger choose to return to the Craftworld, return to the structure, all previous transgressions are forgotten....

Sounds pretty sweet to me, Eldar all the way.

Eldar. They are wise on the ways of the universe and actually care for their people. Plus you get to look down on everyone else as lesser beings.

Eldar. The Paths are pretty cool, doing something you like until you are happy with your achievements. When you are done, you do something else you like. And if you get tired of it, go explore the galaxy on the Path of the Outcast.

You also have awesome living conditions and in death waits the rest of the Infinity Circuit. Unless you get placed in a Wraith construct that is...

I'm surprised so many people chose Eldar...with them being a dying race and thet fact they're always worried about Chaos or becoming corrupt and turning into a DE

I picked Tau

Dark Eldar are not "Chaos Eldar". They just happen to be the side of the race that still holds to beliefs that hold similar to the ones that brought about the birth of Slaanesh in the first place. There are more than one path of Eldar that are actually welcomed to Commoragh, though never fully brought into the DE life.

This is what I gather from the Eldar Codex.

I'd choose chaos. I'm a go getter, I need to keep going forward with things, I like to be able to take control and push forward. If eternal damnation is the price to pay then screw it, I'd happily give my soul to Tzeentch to get an edge and keep going forward and building my team forwards.

Unless, of course, Tzeentche would rather see everything you build come crumbling down and see you go backwards, not forwards.

I was going to pick Eldar, as I admire their style of living (the paths etc), their technology and their psychic affinity, but I don't think I could handle the tenuous situation of the soul once the body dies. I don't fancy zooming around the Infinity Circuit forever, constantly in fear that I would end up with Slaanesh.

So I picked Tau. Little to no warp presence (as yet) and thus low risk of chaos corruption, a great feeling of community and a very clear mindset (the greater good!) and each caste is respected for everything they do, no matter how minor. And think of all that tech to tinker with! I'd probably start out somewhere in the earth caste, as a simple research assisstant and maybe build towards being a crisis suit developer/engineer.

Eldar for me. High quality of life, better trained and faster than your average enemy on the field and every life is important. I'd take the Swooping Hawks aspect as one of my paths.

As to the dying race thing, if enough of us chose it then they won't be dying out anymore, will they?

Voted for Eldar, IMO the only other option that is even slightly considerable would be Orks.

Imperium of Man: Living in a hive world is basically paid slavery, they have little or no fredom over what they get to do with their lives. The other option is the Guard, and they dont live long at all, becoming an uber cool vetran/commander/commisar is very very unlikely.

Ork's: Their society is simplistic. You fight, if you fight well you become more influential, if you fight badly you either die or stay where you are. You enjoy fighting, so there is nothing to loose and possibly a lot to gain, all the time you're enjoying yourself (or you die fighting so that doesn't count )

Eldar: They've got the freedom to choose whatever path they want. If you want to see the future and use mental magic powers they've got a path for that. If you want to melt battle-tanks for a living then the've got a path for that. If you want to be epic at baking bread they've probably got a path for that too! Add to that the fact that they basically live forever, whats not to like?

Tau: Sure you getto play with fancy guns, but giving up your free will to the mind control of the ethereal's doesnt sound like a fair trade to me.

Necrons: BECOME A MINDLESS ROBOT!.....no thanks

Chaos (most likely a cult): The odds of actually geting to a placwe of power are so minute that its not even worth trying, especially with the risk of being violently purged is always around the corner. If you got to a place of power it would be epic, but thats just not likely.

Tyranid: BECOME A MINDLESS BUG THAT GETS CONTROLED BY THE HIVEMIND....no thanks

Dark Eldar: As awesome as they look the Dark Eldar are nothing more than violence addicts, enslaved by their own sences. If they were only doing what they do "because they want to" it would be pretty sweet. But when it reaches the point that you have no choice but to commit such violence to survive it's not something I'd ever choose for myself.

A Slaanesh cult - I would have the opportunity to achieve perfection, to refine my emotions and creativity to beyond mortal barriers, whilst every indulgence of the flesh would be granted to me. For were we not put in this universe to embrace our 'earthly impulses'?

On a side note, this is my 300th post! A dose of my medicine and a scrub from my concubines before the altar might be a suitable celebration...

Would love to say Dark Eldar and get me sum slaves and explore all the things that are frowned upon I wouldn't fancy all the toher gak that comes with it. You know, the feeding off souls to stay alive and all that.

Would proberly have to go with Tau, less chances of being shot up or generally maimed as one would if in the IOM.

Tau.

Could go a couple of different ways. Could be a Fire Warrior and go around shooting stuff, eventually working my way up to Battle Suit pilot perhaps... or,

Could be a Kroot and go around stalking different jungles all over the place. That would be really cool too. Then you and your buds could adapt to various situations by eating stuff. You'd just have to be careful though, because tacos are delicious, and you don't want to turn into a taco.

Right behind you...

It would be pretty dull to be born as a Necron. You would end up being a scarab or an ordinary warrior who would just take orders from that guy with the colorful cloak.

I think I would like to be born as an Eldar, even though I am an Imperial player. There would be no brainwashing, no dying for the swarm or anything like that. I could just hang around in a Craftworld.

There is only the Emperor, and he is our shield and protector.

I think I'd like being an Eldar. Despite playing Chaos, I have no doubt that I would hate living as a cultist. Also, the near-immortality would be a nice bonus.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.
