Sadly I forget the exact recipe,I started using Astro Grey working up to white, but did not like that,I think I went over that with P3 Menoth White Highlight then I used a burnt umber oil wash, let that dry a couple hours then used a thinner damp brush to remove the paint the the highest ridges, reverse drybrushing if you will.

Will just echo everyone else - great work

Wanted to pick you up on something though. Whats the deal with no robots in 40K? is there an official line on that? Thats coming from someone who remembers when robots walked alongside marines on the battlefield

The AI on robots went wrong on one occasion iirc, then everyone got paranoid and the AdMech outlawed sentient robots. Or something like that!

Lemme see if I can find the old commission pics.
I am so mad I sold off the nits to make them last year, did'nt think I was gonna need them again, more the fool me.

Yeah with the robots,I think the Matrix just about happened for real but in 40k the human won and outlawed A.I.
The reconn with the robots is that they have organic cpu chips that AD-Mech cultures/creates I believe they call them Doctrina Wafers

ah here we are all the way back on pg 30ish
I never made the Stalk Tank so thanks a ton, thats like offering a guy tring to quit smoking, a cigarette.
Now I just Have to make one,as well as the Demon Tank that was Hunting the Ghosts in that book.
I did however make my version of the AT-70 MBT

And while I am not going to run them I also did Loaxal for the same buyer

If I can snag a Blood Slaughter on the cheap from ebay,I think that would make a good chassis for the chaos tank
Right now I am finishing off the last Ogryn I had to do,the Bone'Ed using the Gamesday model
I am painting that guy being choked as a Blood Pact, theme of this model is this ogryn really hats being whipped and is about to cut his custodian in half

I miss this thread and there's so much awesome that I don't know where to start! The Beastmen are GREAT! Now I have to try the same thing. Oh good. Another project. I really like the tech case you have, brilliant idea, compleyely organized, and such a space-saver! I'm going to look into something similar becasue that is a really good idea! The Thrall came out gross and scary and is the sort of thing I'd expect to see in a horror movie. Very well done. The "not a robot" gun is excellent... the.... the.... gaahhhhhh!!!!

Since I had a second turret,I bought a second chassis off ebay.
It is all prepped up to be welded.
I am using the plastic rod/plastic glue technique, however regular plastic glue is too thick and it would make a mess.
I am using Tenax 7r to weld the rods,Tenax has the consistancy of water but is strong as hell.

,020 plastic rod plastruct or evergreen both sell em,though in the middle of welding so to speak .015 rod might be a tad easier to work with.

Here she is after the welding treatment.
I coated the rod in Tenax then used a brass rod cut at a 45 degree angle to push the weld pattern into the plastic rod..

That looks sooo much easier than putty or GS welding!

yes and no
It takes a little practice to get the feel of it,how long to leave the glue on for,(about a min then I add a second coat and start welding).
But done correctly I like this way best,it feels like part of the model, the techneque in gereral is a good way to hide slight gaps if a mistake was made building it.
It mainly takes patience like all things 40k

I'm more of a rivet-man myself, but likewise, patience is needed to rivet.

Who says I'm not a rivet man
I have a whole bags of tricks for that have no fear.
Wait til I show you how to make nuts and bolt fasteners !!!!
In the mean time I gave the model the primer and baseoat.
I used Alclad II Duraluminum it is a little bright than the steel.
The last two tanks, metal damage blends in a bit too much IMO.
I am hoping once weathered the brighter Duraluminum will turn out the right shade.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I was also determined to finish this guy, before he gets lost in the armor shuffle.
Going to start on a new tank company, hopefully olive drab winter camo, trying new things and all that jazz.
Painting the guardsmen a Blood Pact just made more sense to me and better keeps the army uniform.
This MoFo is just so beserk he does'nt care from where the blood flows.

I wish I had room for terrain, always wanted the Trenches of Terra board. Then the top would come off to have a Space Hulk board underneath.
