I still enjoy it. Love the games and their background, and the minis are good too. Finecast isn't as bad as it was made out to be, and any issues were replaced so I don't see the problem there, and it is a lot better than metal IMHO. The only problem I have with GW is their prices, which are a bit high for my student wallet.

This is HILARIOUS considering the OP.

I don't know if I am allowed to post here. I hate GW as a company but I like 40K and Fantasy a lot. I figured I better ask your permission to post.

More "I bought a car, and a bit was broken. But the company replaced it and now its fine."

Newp. My analogy was spot on. They are replacing the entire thing over and over and over in some cases. There's no "broken piece" they are replacing.

Its no more combative than threads referring to 'Finecrap' and labelling people as 'white knights'.

I agree, but doing so 'because he did it as well' isn't really a very good defence (two wrongs don't make a right, and all that).

I don't understand the fervour people defend GW, but the level to which some people go to nail them to a cross is equally baffling.

This is a good point. I think most people are quite rational in normal circumstances but the problem is usually someone comes out with an extreme viewpoint, which forces a polarisation of opinion on the other side of the argument. From henceforth, everyone who posts after it gets branded with a similarly extreme label.

Someone who says they have bought Finecast with no problems is labelled as a 'white knight', while someone else moans about prices or QC and gets labelled a 'hater'. In reality I'm sure that, for the vast majority of the time, these extreme descriptions are not accurate at all. I'm sure that all of us want value for money, and good miniatures. These arguments simply come down to differing interpretations of what constitutes those things, and is different for all of us.

Sorry I have to go now and remove some of the splinters from my bottom, these fences are painful.

But only a few, very rare, cases. After the initial flop the standard of casting has risen considerably. I myself have made numerous Finecast purchases, and I have only had one problem which was replaced no questions asked. Finecast is fine, and still a better modelling material than the metal it replaced.

I bought a box of Incubi in Finecast and they were fine... I understand why people hate them though... They are chalking feeling and very brittle....

I dont like them but they were cast fine.

Way on back in the deep caves

I like the games and I have a heap of metal to paint before I worry about buying any more. Fortunately most of my figures were purchased before the prices went nuts. Even back then GW's prices were higher than everyone elses.
