Yeah ... no. Unfortunately, Imperial Guard wouldn't be playable, which has lowered my interest for this game somewhat. The closest you could get would be playing the Assassin class, which is apparently supposed to start out as a somewhat "guardsman'esque character".

And there goes any of my interest in this game. Why is there no love for the guard?

Because they can only represent bits of the Imperium...

There something life 500,000-1,000,000 guardsmen for ever Astartes there is.

They represent the Imperium the most.

"The Imperium is nothing if not willing to go to any lengths necessary. So the Trekkies are zipping around at warp speed taking small chucks out of an nigh-on infinite amount of ships, with the Imperium being unable to strike back. feth it, says central command, and detonates every vortex warhead in the fleet, plunging the entire sector into the Warp. Enjoy tentacle-rape, Kirk, we know Sulu will." -Terminus

Maybe but a 40k game without SM would seem a touch wrong unless it was done in a certain way...

You can have both.

Me if they don't put IG in the game.

As nobody has mentioned this yet...

The link on Gamingbolt is ENTIRELY speculation. THQ said so about a day after that "leak" was leaked.

None of that is true, and if parts of it end up being true, it would be coincidence.

Source... http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/10/13/thq-says-war40k-release-date-features-list-is-pure-speculation/

-----------

Been following DMO since 2009, and they really haven't said anything about it aside from their little trailers.

If they are going to keep with their current release date, they would have to start releasing a lot of information by E3 2012.

If you want all the information that has been released, just go through this list they have on massively. I check here every couple days to see if there is anything new.

You can also dislike something for reasons which you don't realize at first.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

You can also lack the ability to articulate the reason. The best critics usually end up being the best simply because they can coherently convey what they mean not because there's something special about their insight per se.

Yea, I want to punch Usher in the face, I simply cannot stand the guy. I honestly have no reason for it at all, he hasnt said or done anything that makes me feel this way, its just the way I feel about it. That doesnt make the guys opinion irrelevant because he doesnt know why he feels the way he does.

You can indeed, I never disputed that.

I simply said that your opinions value is close to nothing if not given with a reason of some sort.

I can say "I fething hate cats with hats"

"Why do you hate cats with said hats?"

"I don't know, I just do."

That opinion is worthless.

My thought is, if his opinion is useless without a reason, then your opinion is equally just as useless. Your just using your own opinion as your reason why his is invalid. Not a good way to try and argue someone bud

I'm sorry, I have no idea what this means.

My opinion is that an opinion without a reason behind it is worthless.

If you have an opinion, you should be able to justify it somehow to give it value.

I really don't understand how this is hard to understand. Its the same as if I said "I hate asians" and to justify it I said "because they are asian..."

The opinion WOULD be valid if I said "well..they got weird eyes". Its a moronic opinion, but at least I know why you hate asians now.

Well, in an attempt to bring this back on topic, I honestly think the developers of DMO went underground after hearing about the number of individuals complaining about the factions within the game itself.

Honestly, how can you think you can make a SUCCESSFUL 40k MMO with only 2 factions?

- 3000+
- 2000+

Ogres - 3500+

Protectorate of Menoth - 100+

Lore-wise, its really not that far fetched.

Back a long long time ago, there was this campaign that had the Forces of Order and Forces of Disorder, where Orks were with Chaos and Eldar with Spess Mehreens, etc etc.

Its not the lore thing that is the problem, its balance. If they want to make the game GOOD PvP wise a la DaoC there has to be 3 factions to balance everything out.

I ask you then - how would you make 3 factions with the races? Would it be something like Eldar/Tau, Spess Mehreens/moar Spess Mehreens, Orks...Chaos?

You haven't given an adequate reason for the statement and so your opinion is invalid by your own reasoning.

Basically Karon, there is only two ways your opinion really, truly matters in a argument. 1 you can back your opinion up with facts made from opinions of reputable sorces, like doctors, lawyers, or experts in a given field. or 2, you yourself is a doctor, lawyer, expert in the given field. And since I can guarantee by your age even, that you are neither, again, your opinion on his opinion being useless, doesnt work. And like Sol said, the everyone has an ass hole thing
