Might have to get some pics up later then, stopped playing for a while and just came back into it, so got a nice 5k nid project started.
And little - no painting done yet.
Only just worked out a scheme since i rarely like the usual sfleet colours.

BTW, my scheme is super simple:
1. Prime with an almond primer
2. Basecoast the carapaces mechrite red
3. Claws and talons are done in black
4. Entire figure is washed with a Devlan Mud or equivalent. I've made my own, much cheaper wash using Liquitex paints.
5. Edge carapace with Blazing Orange
5. Details are done with Thrakka Green and Leviathan Purple washes.

Thankyou. My purple is a liche purple basecoat. I then use a drybrush of purple with a little white mixed in. I then use a lighter purple followed by a light drybrushing of white. I then shade the Tyranids with black. After this I use a purple ink (winsor and newton) on it. After this a white purple mix is used to highlight the Tyranid.
The claw/talon green is started with a basecoat of black mixed with dark angels green. I then drybrush this up with scaly green and then a drybrush of scaly green plus white. Then I use white on it and shade it with black and give it a viridian green ink wash. I then highlight and blend white onto the edges and curves.
