Whatever the uncreative admin side of GW tells them to do.

Which in and of itself was a call back to Realms of Chaos: Lost & The Damned, the big Fantasy/40K/Fantasy RPG book from the days of old that detailed Nurgle and Tzeentch.

Lost and Damned, but call them something with less words. That name exists only because of the Eye of Terror codex. Call them Chaos Heretics or Chaos Damned.

I agree that their title is a bit wordy, though I do like how they aren't immediately Chaos as-is. They're pirates, misguided Guardsmen and mercs* with the Dark Gods whispering into their ears; unltil the hits the fan as their Psyker Lord is possessed by a Greater Deamon and half their mates are mutants.

*though yes, some are filthy heretics from the outset.

I was using a slightly update (by me) version of the sneaker cult rules a while back and suprisingly they are still quite usable in the current edition.

LatD definitly needs to come back.

The rumors for the new Chaos codex show that Traitor Guardsmen are getting added so the ability to run LatD is coming back. it sounds like its going to be a smashing codex.

Perhaps I shouldn't be pushing my luck when it comes to GW adding long-lost units back into the mainstream, but I thought the point of LatD is being grass-roots Chaos where you rarely see Power Armour outside of the HQ choices- relying on mutants, Warp Spawn and whatever you can annex/loot from the Imperial Guard to survive. Part of its charm is that a Defiler or Noise Marines aiding you as an Allies choice is something really special, raising the moral of your heretical troops.

I'd like to see a non-Imperium human based army.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

I would like to see in 40k a Dogs of war army / mercenaries / ROUGE TRADERS

Think it would be awesome - mish mashing units from imperial guard, tau, renegade marines etc

Would be nice to see the Titans get a Codex soon. Those guys are just as badass as the Space Marines: "...the Titan Legions stand alongside the Space Marines as twin symbols of Imperial power and galactic dominance...".

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.'

I would like to see:

Dark Angels get incorporated into Codex Space Marines.

Chaos Space Marines, no Marine Cults and Traitors and Deamons all covered in Codex Chaos. Beastmen?

Genestealer Cult into Codex Tyranids. Perhaps Zoats too.

New:
Adeptus Mechanicus
Demiurg (Codex Tau)
Hrud as part of: Codex Xenos (many smaller races, mercenaries and pirates),
Other: Freatis Milita and Deathwatchrules back.

Unless you mean the admech? this wouldn't work.

It's almost 600 points a titan so no logical troops/fast attack/heavy support/HQ/elites divisions could be made. following the Foc you would have to at least three titans on the field and as it's a codex this would be for normal games. no force can even begin to challenge that.

The money you would need to field an army of titans would be immense at the very least around £3000 or au$1'000'000'000 .

Plus and this being the main point they already have up to date and usable rules which is not the question.

I like the suggestion/proposition a few posts up of the tau in fact being the demiurg or the demiurg being introduced to replace the tau and be an army of a similar mechanic. So interesting !! Might have more scope for fluff and reveal more of the imperial past and what happened during dark night or whatever they called it.Having said that I do like the tau in 40k though....ahhh so complex lol

I still rekon it would be great to have a rouge traders codex - renegade marines with renegade guardsmen with renegade tau and demiurg all in the one place

By renegade I dont mean chaos I mean the tau members of the rouge traders want their own personal planet, the guardsmen want to get rich and make a name for themselves and the space marines want freedom and to expand the imperium/explore - maybe some of them could be inquisitors or adeptus mechanicus

So;

HQ could be Inquisitor or tau commander or space marine veteran or tech priest
Troops could be guardsmen, henchmen, kroot, scouts - transports can be rhinos or chimeras
Heavy support could be servitors, thunder cannons, griffons, hydras
Elites could be stealth suits, skitarri, spacemarine veterans
Fast Attack could be salamanders, hell hounds, land speeders
