Your list here proves exactly why this won't happen.

Cadaver, I agree, but for a different reason - anyone who thinks that GW could care less about invalidating popular lists because of a rules change are deluded - the past is littered with examples - and not because they are callous, the game is just evolving - a smaller version of this phenomenon takes place every time a new codex comes out.

People will always buy cool models, whether they are useful for a particular list or not.

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

Boom!!! There is a real risk of going off topic here, but how about some more examples - here's my starter for 10...

At the time Dark Angels were considered OP.

Citing out of date examples is really not relevant to a discussion of 6th Ed.

I don't think the 4th ed Dark Angels codex was ever considered overpowered. The cheaper Marine gear and Rhino were kind of a shocker, but at the time Rhinos were still rolling coffins due to it being 4th edition and all. If you're referring to the 3rd edition codex, then that's before my time and I apologize.

Deathwing was pretty powerful in fourth. Their cheaper HQ choices, better troops, and the lack of an external meta filled with ap2 templates and power weapons helped them a lot. I think chaos still kept them down though.

As the Design Studio 40K Open Day approaches, they've started to reveal the great line up of seminars, activities and competitions on the day. You can even get professional photos of your miniatures on Design Studio gaming boards!

Bought my tickets a wee while back, quite looking forwards to this,

the bit about the psykers.... hmm... wonder if there is indeed some meat to the rumours about the psyker rules changing then.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Hrm, that would seem to indicate something big, the Crimson Fists vs. Chaos Space Marines might be a precursor to a starter box, but it wouldn't make sense to put 2 power armor armies in the box, but I'd pay to watch that fight

This actually looks pretty cool to go to.

A couple of weeks ago we mentioned that tickets were now on sale for the Design Studio Open Day (held here at Warhammer World on July 14th). At the time we weren't able to give you much information about it, but being the curious people that we are, we sent Servitor 13 off on a reconnaissance mission to find out more.

One of the first things to note is that this event is now called the Warhammer 40,000 Design Studio Open Day, as the whole day will be dedicated to the grim darkness of the far future. If you're a fan of guns, tanks and a galaxy where there is only war, then this is definitely the event for you.

The Design Studio will be out in force on the day, including Artists, Sculptors and Writers all more than willing to answer your questions and show off their work. If you've ever wanted to ask about a certain pice of artwork, or the ideas behind the design of your favourite Warhammer 40,000 miniature, then this is the day to do it.

There will also be several huge displays featuring the evolution of Warhammer 40,000, from the days of Rogue Trader right up to the present day and seminars will be run throughout the day where you can learn about the process the designers go through to create the miniatures and the rules that bring them to life.

You can chat to the Hobby Team about their painting and modelling techniques, which they will be demonstrating throughout the day in hobby workshops. You will also have the opportunity to help them build a unique gameboard, which will be used the next day at the Cataclysm event (click here for more details).

There will also be a several large games run over the course of the day, all of which you can take part in (not all at the same time though - you wouldn't have enough arms to move all the models). There will be a vicious contest between the Crimson Fists and the Chaos Space Marines, which you can join throughout the day. There will be a massive aerial battle featuring the Space Marine Stormtalon, the Ork Bommer and the Necron Doom Scythe run by the games developers - do you have what it takes to battle the guys that wrote the rules for them?

This, of course, is just the tip of the iceberg, but sadly Servitor 13 was noticed before he could retrieve any more data for us and had to flee the Studio for fear of reprogramming. We'll infiltrate with something more subtle next time like a Servo Skull or a Ratling.

There are only 450 tickets for this event and they are selling pretty quickly, so if you're thinking of coming along then make sure you order your ticket now.
