Changed mine, recently, but I believe I'll be sticking with this name in most every venue(IRC, etc.).

Chromedog started out as an RPG in-joke in my group.

Starting with an inadvertent mistake with a name (wrote "chromeDOG" instead of "chromeGOD" - it was in a Werewolf:The apocalypse game, referring to the Glasswalker hacker character whose digital web avatar was of a chrome crinos (classic half man/wolf wolfman). So the chromedog was also appropriate, if derogatory.

I have white hair (have had it since I was 17 or so - my hair just went that way). In my current group, I'm the oldest, so am seen as an "old dog" and the white hair (NOT 'SILVER'. It's 18% neutral grey and does not stand out against a "neutral" photo background).

That and I'm lazy. On most forums, I'm known as chromedog. It's just easier. People who meet me whom I previously only knew from forums, associate the nick with the hair.

My online tag has evolved a bit over the years. Was Aduro for a long time, but I started adding the T (initial for the identities last name, Terrarum) after I found Aduro was taken a lot of places. Put in an effort a bit back to get my name changed to AduroT everywhere so all my accounts line up. You can actually find out a good bit of info about me in real life by googling AduroT now.

Ironically, I actually answer to my real name (rather common name or at least I believe) less then I answer to "Norse." I'm not from Norway or any scandinavian country (unfortunately ), but my family has some good ol' viking blood that I inherited right and proper! I'm a definite textbook viking and proud of it! I've went as far as having it put on some clothing and was going to put it on my tag if it wasn't so expensive. Anyway, I've never been referred to as Norserune, but almost everyone in my circle of friends says Norse before they resort to my name. I'm deeply attached to it. Chances are if you've ran into this name it was me, but it HAS been taken on occasions, then I add numbers of make something strange like tehNorseman or NorseDudesman.

Not really dedicated to my dakka name, since it was mixed to easier share trades and ebay stuff.

My video game handle though, I always use it.

I've used this in every venue it was available. It was my character name in Everquest, so I've been using it since 1999.

I go by Galacticdefender on pretty much every site I am an active participant of. My airsoft "callsign" is Galactic, and I will probably have a bumpersticker that says "Galactic Defender" on it, right next to my "My other car is a heavy support choice" sticker. I pretty much just chose the name because Science Fiction is pretty much my life , and I like to go with the "good side of things" generally. Except for 40k where there is no good side.

I don't "own" my own vehicle yet (I drive my dad's truck), but when I do, I'll have my name on my liscense plate most likely.


I also generally use HAL 9000 as an avatar (usually with the same quirky expression), but sometimes I'll use other stuff like the Tanith 1st badge. (here I wouldn't dare change my avatar, because I recognize most users by theirs, and I assume others do the same)

Although I have thought of changing my internet name to Sun Stealer, but it would be too difficult to change everything, and I've just had Galacticdefender as a username for so long.

Not really at all, feels childish to me. In fact I've considered asking to see if I could get it changed it a few times, but with the number of posts I've figured may as well stick it out.

That and I'd have to think up a replacement.

I have like 8-9 handles at this point, going through various games, forums, and chat clients. Mostly they're related to dogma, my name, or a couple other odd "words".

I use "azazel the cat" or "azazel~the~cat", etc. everywhere, and I have for almost 14 years now.

Given that Harry is the name I was given when I came screaming into the world I'd think I'm pretty dedicated to it.

Hazardous Harry is subject to change, but I do use it as my username on a couple of other sites as well. Mostly because it's easier to remember than anything else. I love the lengths to which King Cracker has gone though, Dakka needs more people like you!

Mine has evolved over about 10 or 15 years from thesilversurfer to silvermk2, which I use pretty much everywhere.

I'm happy to be called silver at internet meets and if I felt the need would be happy to have a shirt etc with the handle on it.

Well I've been calling myself Ledabot on forums from as long as I have really been on the net, so being a youngin still, thats only 7 or so years. I have splashed my name about though. I had a hat With L3dabot on it until I lost it.

the 3 wasn't my idea though. I think ill keep to Ledabot in the future.

I'm pretty dedicated to my name. I don't really care to comment on its significance as it is a personal matter.
I don't have shirts or a license plate or anything, but I do paint it on a few of my miniatures.
I only have one other handle, Dreaknyean, which is a corruption of Drach'nyen, Abaddon's sword.

I'm Drk_Oblitr8r everywhere, with very little differentiation. Chances are if you see a Drk_Oblitr8r or DrkOblitr8r etc, it's me.

I don't have anything representing the name, but I think I should start looking for something though.

As for me, Aurelia is something I grabbed for Dakka: elsewhere I am known as something else. Pretty much each forum/game/id/email name I have is different. Only my WoW and Diablo names overlap, and that is because Blizzard made me!

I'm not sure why I do this exactly... but I have my theories.

Im zman111 Just about everywhere (and where im not Im zachman1394) and im kinda weird with it. (I invision the licence plate of my first car either saying Zman!! or saying ork-guy)

I've used five, but MDS has become my favoured one, and one I'd use elsewhere if I was to suddenly join other 40K forums these days (although that seems unlikely.)

My original name online was Captain Reaper as I had a Scythes army when I first came online. Later I switched to fuzzy spiral, which was based off a npc in Werewolf the Apocalypse, still my xbox LIVE login as well.

I then switched to Master Zhang Liao after getting into Dynasty Warriors, and then MDS on Seer, before bringing it here.

I also use my Main WoW character Shaedrah on WoW related boards, just as its something that connects me to the game. I've also used the same name in other MMO's, and will be using it in Guild Wars 2 as well, as its become an sorta in joke that if there is a Hunter class equivilent, she takes it, took it as my name in D3 as well with a Demonhunter.

I'm pretty dedicated to 'djphranq'... its my handle most anywhere I can use it. In fact after 10 years I finally got around to changing my XboxLIVE tag to it. In games where they want you to make a profile I'll use djphranq most of the time.

I used to use 'gunslinger_cid' or gunslingercid a lot but that was mostly because its what I had on hotmail... when I moved to using gmail, I went with djphranq.

This is just the name I used to use on Counterstrike. I've grown fond of it now, mind, and use it for other stuff. I don't know that I'd have it on a t-shirt, but I could definitely see myself wearing one with a fetching picture of a large sea-bird on it, fo' sho'.

I've gone through a few since I first started out on the Interwebs.

Before about 2005, I went through Handles like candy until I started up on a F2P game called PhantasyRPG. From about 2005 to 2008 I was a Mod and later writer, (then Mod again after some complications came up) under the Name Karzon.When My old Computer crashed and I went months without the internet, I just never felt like logging back on, but kept my MSN friends (mostly other staff members) To the people I still talk to from PhantasyRPG, I still go by Karzon.

For about a year after that, I played WAR as a Witch Hunter by the name Alaglan(better known on Vent as ALG) and became good friends with a bunch of 40k players. But they eventually all left WAR and we lost touch.

Then About the time WotLK came out for WoW, I was a Dwarven Hunter that went by the name Diril. Most of the people I played WoW with I knew IRL, and we all pretty much started going by our Ingame Handles.I did that until the Pre Cata patch came out and ruined Hunters. The ones I'm still in touch with call me Diril.

Sometime between starting and stopping WoW, I finally started to use the Internet to help me not suck as much at 40k and Joined ATT and Dakka Dakka under the name IurTaeMont (well Iur_tae_mont here), this one has, to date, Stuck with me pretty well, It being the only name to be used more than once (On Dakka, LoL ,Minecraft ,Smogon ,the 3DS gaming, and Xbox Live). Every once in a while I get someone that called me Iur IRL, but most of the time, when people actually call me by this handle, they call me Lur instead because of my spelling fail.

as for me im just well..... best described as a creature of chaos. my names vary from my real first with a false second(as on facebook) to thingssuch as Darkangel and fallen one to made up words/names.

Not at all. I wish I could change it.
