I've contacted GW about the problems and they said they're waiting for stock from the US. Any one else had this problem?
Apparently they'll contact me tomorrow but I can't say i'm impressed, I had it on preorder from release day there should be no excuses for this really.

Same thing happened with a friend with the Apocalypse bags. Waited over a month. Bag never arrived, claimed stock error. Our manager had to chase them up and chew them out for compensation.

So I checked my mail last night and I had a letter of apology from GW. Apparently they will not be able to fulfil my order and have given me a copy of 6th and the munitorium dice tin for free.

As well as the refund they also gave me an evoucher for £75.
While this is a fairly reasonable compensation I'm still pretty annoyed that they failed to provide the product they advertised to people who ordered it within the availabilty period.

If my order was not filled, I would not accept an eVoucher. I gave them legal tender for a product they promised and if they don't have the product I want my legal tender back.

He said he got the voucher AND a refund.

I'm disappointed they forfilled my CE edition now if the alternative was a regular version with a voucher for £80!.

Nice to see some still take that as a slap in the face - did they really want a new Warhammer purse that badly?

I'm interested to see what they send me.

I ordered both the collector's edition and the Gamer's edition.

I got my shipping notification but I won;t be happy until I see the physical product which is still in transit in the void.

I would however be super happy with a full refund, free book, dice and vouchers

My Gamers is scheduled for delivery on Saturday after a brief delay before I got the tracking. It is in the FedEx system and it's my fault for not taking faster shipping I suppose. Now I'm scared it won't have all the stuff in it!

Count me in as one of those who ordered a gamers within a few minutes of it being available.

Received email that it shipped on 6/27. Obviously, it didn't.

First off, it's pretty easy to sell things on the web AND not sell beyond the stock you have available. So, if that's really what happened then their web team is incompetent. There are literally hundreds of thousands of companies that get this basic thing right.

However, even if they did, sending an email stating that a product has shipped when it not only hasn't but that they have no idea when it will... Also shows a lack of competence.

Finally, not communicating problems and waiting for customers to call you... Well, that's how things were handled 15 years ago. In today's world it means a loss of a lot of customers.

All in all my 9 year old summed it up the best by saying, "Dad, I am very disappointed in them.".

I ordered mine from my local FLGS when I first heard about 6th edition (just get whatever splash items they have) But after going to my local Games Workshop store week before the release and hearing that all stores may be shorted on limited items, I ordered the gamers edition direct from GW when I returned home that night..The sad truth is my FLGS did get shorted...he received NO Limited edition items.. Luckily I had ordered one direct, but still waiting on it...

As for Companies that get the online ordering right.... I had issues with Amazon and Best Buy like this... even the big boys have issues... Back when 4th edition D&D came out, I ordered direct from Amazon the collectors edition with all 3 books and dust cover. The item was released and nothing... I never received mine.. weeks later they just canceled my order

Mine arrived on Tuesday, with everything intact. I'm not sure how they did allocation, as I ordered mine probably a couple hours after they were posted online.

I don't know why GW makes so little of these items when there is ALWAYS demand for more of the number they sell. They really do not like money.

Yeah, but how many more people use Amazon compared to the GW website?

Not that I'm trying to say it's okay for Amazon since they're bigger (a lot bigger), but still, GW is only dealing with a few thousand customers and knows exactly how many units they have available. Obviously I'm being "armchair web developer" again but I don't see why you couldn't have some kind of system in place that keeps track of how many units are left and then lists the item as "out of stock" once the last one is sold.

Apparently I typed my sob story too soon.

My gamer's edition showed up today and the kids are very happy.

Interestingly, the ship date on the label was 6/28 via USPS. My guess is that it was media mail shipped and simply sat on a USPS dock for a few days before they got around to putting it on a truck. I've had that happen before with something I shipped..

As a developer, I can say that limiting sales to quantities on hand is extremely easy. Amazon is a different beast as they are simply a front end to a lot of other companies who may not give correct stock quantities. GW on the other hand knew exactly how much of each edition they were willing to sell. From a developer perspective, that makes it extremely easy to stop a shopping cart from proceeding once those limits are reached. And for those areas where you could potentially have several hundred people pay at the exact same time you normally set the available stock to be lower than what you actually have on hand. Takes care of overflow rather nicely.

Couldn't you do it similar to ticket master? Reduce stocks once it is in a shopping cart, release it back into stock if not paid for withing a certain time frame?

It seems strange to me that they use all three carriers instead of just one. Mine is in the FedEx system, yours comes USPS, and others are getting it UPS... that's all just in the US. Seems they are making it more complicated than it needs to be. *checks tracking again* *goes back to painting*

OK........ so adding to my confusion I have just recieved another email from GW.

I was baffled to find out that my order has been dispatched today, Baring in mind I've had my free copy of the book and dice (sans bag) delivered on tuesday.

Either this is a late invoice, the order being sent again or GW just trying to hurt my head!

I have no Idea what is going on now, so i'm just going to wait to see if anything appears in the next few days or not.

Can it really be this difficult for them to get it right?

Mine just showed up at my FLGS today, although everything was separate. Thought it would be packed in the bag, but that's okay. Anyway, got it and brought it home without issue; just showed up a couple days later than it should've.
