Fedex says my Gamer's Edition is in Kent, WA now. Looks like July 7th is going to be the date.

Mine should show up today according to FedEx. I ordered in the initial wave that seems to have had all the problems, as a friend of mine that ordered AFTER me already has his Gamer's Edition with nothing missing.

Mine just Ohio yesterday. I hate that they send UPS. I have had terrible experiences with UPS delivery, and their pick-up locations have terrible hours. I usually have to duck out of work early to get there before they close.

Better UPS in my opinion than the USPS. At least UPS will let you come pick it up yourself if you're not home for a delivery, whereas the mailman just drops the fething box right there in front of your door, in the hallway of an apartment complex, which is right in front of the stairs leading a few feet up to the exit.

Yeah, 3 guesses what happened to those fething packages. God damn donkey-caves.

Canada Post doesn't leave packages unless you have a discharge on your mailbox, if you're out. And we have post-offices in most pharmacies, so picking up a missed delivery is super easy with USPS. I actually have to rent a car to get to the UPS, DHL or FedEx depots. Since no one uses Purolator anymore because they actually have good service and decent location, I prefer USPS by a long shot.

So FedEx hands off to USPS and now it is supposed to come today. Talk about complicated shipping process, jeez! I ordered 5 minutes after it went live on the website what seems like a million years ago now...

Apparently mine will be waiting for me at the store, but I have a friend who ordered from a different store. The Games Workshop Rep forgot to fill the order. That would shatter my faith in the store, even though it was no fault of the owner. What do you all think he and the rest of the people who were forgotten should do about it?

Honestly, I have a hard time believing that the "rep forgot to fill the order".

It sounds more like the store owner "forgot to place the order".

Just spoke with my friend who ordered through there, he was there when the owner called GW and the Rep said he forgot.

I've had UPS do exactly that, despite me arranging for pick-up AND getting confirmation that the change of delivery was processed. Luckily, my neighbor who's a senior saw it lying there stashed it for safekeeping until I got home.

I was told by a buddy of mine that he hasn't got his gamer edition yet. He called GW got transferred through a long chain of "Managers" He was told that they were having issues with the amount of units that were actually made (Something to do with the dice). So long story short they are going to still send my buddy the Gamer edition at half price!

I got my Collector's Ed. today. It was shipped late, and has a small tear in one of the foldout pages. I sent an e-mail about it being late, no response, and then called about it being damaged. The response I got was "That was a limited item and we have to check our stocks to see what we can do.) They took my phone number and promised to call me back. This was at 11am this morning... I got no call back, and did not have my e-mail responded to. Am I wrong to feel that I have been bambousled?

Shipped late? gak happens. No point in complaining about that.

Small tear in one of the foldouts? Sucks, but what do you expect them to do? Replace a $120, out of print, limited stock book because of a tiny cosmetic defect? Also falls under "gak happens."

No. A $140 book that is supposed to be a limited and premium product. The Whole point is that things like this are supposed to be in mint condition. If I wanted to put it on e-bay I would have to mention this cosmetic defect and it will drive bidders away. effectively they sold me a used copy of the rule book.

So, I just received my Gamers Edition about an hour ago (along with the rest of my order) and I am glad to report that everything arrived together and nothing is missing.

One major problem: Book is pretty badly damaged. It looks like someone dropped it or it fell, as there is pretty extensive damage along the bottom of the cover and along the spine. Unfortunately, it was not delivered after 6pm CST and I will have to wait until Monday to contact customer service.

Sadly, it sounds like I am not the only customer who received a damaged book. My book is one thing, it is just the normal edition and fairly easy to replace. A damaged Collectors Edition is something else entirely.

As for the comment, I think you are very wrong. it is not only that the product was supposed to be received on the release date and took an additional week to get here, but more so, that notification was sent regarding shipping a full week before the shipment was actually sent. A few thoughts:

If your delivery is going to be delayed, you notify people. You don't wait for them to call in and complain.

Second, if you do provide reparations, ensure they are universal. You don't randomly give some customers additional items, double shipments, vouchers, full refunds, and random gifts to some customers and not others. Those who didn't get their orders because Games Workshop oversold their stock, I can understand receiving special treatment.

It is ridiculous to oversell an item during an online sale. You are using a CRM to handle the customer purchases and one of the basic settings is the number of items. Every shopping cart and complete purchase has a unique identifier and it is impossible to oversell. That is, unless, your CRM system is total garbage (which is a possibility) or you released a limited edition item without putting a limit in a hope to push sales and got more than you expected. Option two is much, much more likely, especially considering how quickly they were able to fulfill the oversell items.

(I work for a CRM company doing design/development, so I know what I am talking about. I see these sorts of "limited" over sales all the time.)

I am not one of those happy owners of a new shiny 6th adition book. But i must confess: i dont know how you gouys are not MAD.

Serious, GW charge and extra premium for they products in exchange for quality. Them they make a Super Golden Premium release of that same products, with some extras. In the end you got you super ultra gold premium, priced as it was made of gold (and would not lose all its value in 4 years), and in exchange you receive a poor, half assed, job?

When other companies do things like shipping a week later, or shipping less contents than the pre-order specifies, they normally compesate with freebies... GW not only charge for the freebies, but also deliver them later?

I think this hate is the reason why i dont buy GW products, except for the very basic i need to get some fun with my friends.

Sorry for the rant, but i needed to speak...

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...

@kaz: check with the shipper to see if there is any liability coverage. Was the package damaged or just the contents?

I didn't realize it was so widespread. If that's the case then they should definitely be issuing a reprint to people who got damaged copies.

Also, as a software engineer myself, you have to realize that "basic" functionality (like, sigh, inventory count) might be readily available to an outsider, but if you look at the code itself it might not be so easy to implement without rearchitecting their entire system.

Keep in mind this is GW we're talking about. They are the goddamn masters of draconian, outdated business practices. They probably outsourced all of the CRM infrastructure to whoever was offering it cheapest, so you run into problems like overselling limited editions because you're an idiot trying to track inventory manually or in waves or something.

They limit other websites from selling GW product through a shopping cart system because they know that anyone could do it better than they could.

Asked my local game store to make a order for my gamers edition in 6/24th, last night he received a credit card fund cancellation message from paypal. It's quiet surprising there is not even a notice from GW. Reading the posts here, I did not even get freebies as a way of apology, really disappointed.

I will get my refunded "gamer's edition" today via UPS. On the bright side, I ordered not only gamer's edition, but additional minis, which I'll apparently get free also. I was pleasantly surprised with this GW refund policy. All in all, just a bit sad that i won't get that satchel.

It seems strange that the majority of people experiencing problems are those who ordered just minutes past the release date.

Just to finish of my saga, yesterday my gamers edition satchel arrived! So now I have a free copy of the gamers edition, full refund and store credit.

All in all I'm glad I ordered when I did. Essentially have £150 of stuff for free.

Hope everyone else's problems are resolve this well.
