Roadkill Zombie wrote:The Thunderfire Cannon was actually the name of a weapon the Squats used for anti-aircraft fire in 2nd edition epic. The effects the current thunderfire cannon have on the game seem very similar to the effects the origional Mole Mortar and Thudd Gun had on 2nd edition.

The Space Marine codex has a Librarian Psychic Power in it called Force Dome. Force Dome was origionally a Squat Psychic Power in 2nd edition 40k.

The Gravition Gun was a weapon used by the Squats in 2nd edition too and now it is making an appearance in pistol form in the Grey Knights codex as a Gravition Beamer.

Graviton beamer pistol? :/ dont remember that showing up anywhere

The Graviton Gun wasn't specific to Squats.

But it was made by them. They are the ones that developed the technology for it, not the Adeptus Mechanicus. And I think you are thinking the Conversion Beamer.

If I remember correctly, only Squats used the Graviton Gun in 2nd edition. But All Imperials had access to the Conversion Beamer.

"Khorne is a noble warrior who respects strength and bravery, who takes no joy in destroying the weak, and considers the helpless unworthy of his wrath. It is said that fate will spare any brave warrior who calls upon Khorne's name and pledges his soul to the blood god. It is also said that Khorne's daemons will hunt down and destroy any warrior who betrays his honour by killing a helpless innocent or murdering in cold blood..."

No, I'm thinking of the Graviton Gun. Just double-checked the 2nd ed Wargear book. No mention of it being made by or used specifically by Squats... just that it was developed from the same anti-grav tech as Land Speeders.

In game, it was available as a Wargear card for Squat Engineers and Imperial Techpriests.

Ah, ok. I don't own any 2nd edition stuff anymore. Just going off of old man memory. But I could have sworn they talked about it in the very first Chapter Approved book from Rogue Trader.

"Khorne is a noble warrior who respects strength and bravery, who takes no joy in destroying the weak, and considers the helpless unworthy of his wrath. It is said that fate will spare any brave warrior who calls upon Khorne's name and pledges his soul to the blood god. I'm guessing that there are few possibilities for these abhuman races.

In no particular order
A: They rejoin the Guard codex, and you can field them like in the old Rouge trader days.
B: They join the Tau, since the Tau don't hate the mutants that/as much..
C: A combination the two above.
D: **Very Unlikely** They get their own codex
E: GW just put them in to annoy/confuse/hype people, and it looks likes its working.

My moneys on E. Or rather, GW hopes my money is on Finecast releases of all these shiny new abhuman types, that will be so overpowered they outshine the grey knights and the spacewolves. Only in finecast

IMO, they're mentioned to give people conversion ideas.

Well, cat people don't actually exist. Neither do squats or ogryns, etc. But you can probably imagine them. It's not like colors to the blind in any sense, really. It's just an opportunity for people to be creative.

That comment is pretty funny in light of your signature.

We can but dream!

I kind of like the idea of the background opening up a bit, and some more elements of mystery. I wonder if the 'cat people' are a nod to the small but dedicated group of 'furry' converters?
