It's pretty small! The text is kind of tiny, but it's playable. I'm enjoying it, but it's making me want an iPad more than I ever have! Finally a killer app

yeah,
Just downloaded it.
played for 10mins and seems good.

It's £3 for the game.
And the in app purchases are there and they are pretty meaty.

£2 for the Arch mage warrior pack
£2 for the Dwarf Trollslayer warrior pack
£2 for the Warrior Priest warrior pack

£3 for the 'Hidden Threat' Skaven add on pack

And if you want to cheat your way through the game you can buy extra gold.
£2 for 4,000 gold
£7 for 18,000 gold
£21 for 60,000 gold

I've yet to work out how hard it is to earn gold the 'honest' way.

Panic...

I've put in a few hours today, mostly with the add on characters as they were three of my favourites from years back... I have to say I'm really happy with how it's come out and can't wait to see where they take this. The IAPs for characters and quests are fine with me and are well worth the additional cost. The Warrior priest and troll slayer are great fun.

The Ironbreaker seems to be unable to hit a barn door and my Waywatcher seems to like poisoning people as not one of his healing herbs have cured... all of them have caused damage, even to himself!

Hopefully we'll see lots more expansions for the different races, or larger dungeons as well as the other character packs... where's my beloved drunkard Noble?

Pretty darn happy with this app so far.

I also downloaded the 3 add on Characters, and they're all solid. None are integral, but if you really hate your Marauder's propensity to go Berserk and be worthless, the Troll Slayer/Warrior Priest are nice alternatives.

I've put a fair amount in so far, and quite honestly, aside from the bonus characters and content, I can't see any reason to need any of the in-app gold purchasing. I've got plenty of gold right now, but really haven't felt the need to even buy anything. Loot drops have been plenty good and I'm having fun with my toons.

Goblin Shaman magic is pretty freaking brutal.

The game looks and plays great on both our iPad 2 and iPad mini, though I've yet to try it on either of our phones.'

For $5 USD, it's a really fantastic purchase. Very highly recommended.

yeah,
I’ve played iOS WHQ for about 5 hours now and I love the game.
It's great value at £3. The game plays great and I love that it uses iCloud as I can play the same quest on both my iPad and iPhone.

I should rate this game 5 stars but I didn't becuase of In App Purchases!
I honestly hate how prevalent IAPs have become and how many great games IAPs have ruined!
Instead of questing for gold, you can just buy some!? Warhammer Quest basically offers you the option of paying cash to cheat the game...
Luckily It seems that playing the game will earn you enough gold to buy things.

'Tap to purchase warrior'
Expensive premium DLC unlocks! - The game has 3 of the 7 characters locked out.
Rodeo Games pushes these locked characters at you every single time you select warriors to get ready for a quest!

If you want to play all the characters and all the levels, the total cost of this game jumps to £12.
4 times the original cost of the game! That’s just greed.
It reminds me of how drug dealers push their product.

£3 is already what people consider the cost of a premium game on iOS...
- I think the extra characters should have been 69p and occasionally free!

Rodeo Games should have probably held the DLC back for a few weeks so they are not so in your face with their money grabbing hands!
I rated the game 1 star and reviewed that it will get more stars when they lower the prices.

Panic...

I think the DLC content being available was a good move. It isn't "needed" to enjoy the game but it gives those of us who remember the original board game a bit more scope and having the troll slayer is a hoe-in for many warhammer fans. I saw the DLC option as being the truer price for the game but it lets curious people try it out for a lower cost. I hope we get more DLC as we go on. I would love to see undead and beastmen and chaos demons. I would also like outdoors locations like the streets of Mordheim or thick woodland or even chaos wastes. I'm looking forward to reaching the Skaven area at some point too.

I max out at about $10 for a premium iOS game, and this is definitely a premium one. I'd be happy to pay around $10 for it, and that's basically what I did with the additional, optional characters.

I can't see myself ever using the in-app gold purchasing, because I've yet to feel limited or 'less than' due to the amount of gold I have.

I'll also buy the Skaven expansion when I run thru the main game and eagerly await additional expansions (which I will of course purchase).

Long ago I made a posting on where old Gw games were going to licensed out to make video games. I call apps on smart phones a video game as well since this is all soft copy of intellectual properties.

Expect more of this in the future.

Adam's Motto: Paint, Create, Play, but above all, have fun. -and for something silly below-

"We are the Ultramodrines, And We Shall Fear No Trolls. bear this USR with pride".

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

You must recite every rule of Dakka Dakka. BACKWARDS.

Picked up yesterday before an ungodly long car trip, MiskatonicAlum & I traded turns on the iPad and driving..

I've been playing on super easy casual mode, and have beat then first 9 quests, and am on the 'Idol of Mork' secret final qusetline.. about 10hrs and at around level 5.

Misk is playing on normal, has about 7hrs on the clock, and is only partly through the main questline.

We're both enjoying it, and agree it was worth the pricetag. I'll likely pick up the Skaven expansion (Because feth ya, Skaven!), but I doubt I'll pick up the extra classes.. The Warrior Priest might be worth it if he brings lots of heals, but otherwise they don't seem that 'different' from whats in the core game.

And I really don't see what I would need to pay for gold.
