Why has no one mentioned Lootas yet?

95 points for a dude with an AP2 weapon, that on average gives you a Str7 pieplate. Very killy, and no matter what, someone will get a laugh.

For 120 points, everyone always underestimates him. Until he chews through 3 of your vehicles in 3 turns.
And i swear, outta the 16+ games i have played with him, he has only died 3 times.

I don't take vendettas, and I still think vanquishers are terrible. You've got to hit, and it doesn't ignore cover, so straight away you're talking about it doing anything, at most, 1 in 4 shots, so perhaps it has only once chance in an entire game to actually do anything. I'd rather take a deathstrike if this is what I was looking for.

Then, add in that it still does need to roll to pen, and that it's only Ap2, which means it only explodes a vehicle 1/3rd of the time, and that it's pants against infantry models, and you've got something that does very little well, and those things it does well, it also does horribly.

The vanquisher needs to be a lot better in order to see more face time in guard lists, regardless of the existence of vendettas.

I know you don't like the Vanquisher. You've made that abundantly clear, several times. And despite what you said can be easily said about the Las Cannon, I honestly don't care. All I need to do is destroy or immobilize armor 14 Vehicles at range and the Vanquisher Cannon has done it in spades where the Las Cannons has done jack crap when they do hit.

All I need is one and it does fine.

In 5th it was my nob squad by a long way. They chewed through absolutely everything, and soaked up so much firepower it was crazy. not so great in 6th - still awesome, but their points cost weighs more heavily now with a series of minor nerfs making them no longer

in 6th...dunno yet, ive got a "team effort" groove going, but my favourite right now is probably my solo biker boss - awesome fun to play and he's seriously MEAN

This was a thread about your most favorite unit that you like to field, and you being TFG, had to be a parasite and jump on me, demeaning my opinion with some trite crap that could be said about any other weapon in the Imperial Guard Armory.

The last few posts made me laugh, glad I decided to come read this thread.

To add further to the topic though: Harlequins, no matter what eldar list I am writing, I always try to fit these amazing clowns in, though I primarily play footdar and harleystar does a great many things for the list
