Incidentally, fundamentally Dakimakura are just orthopedic body pillows with cute girls drawn on them. In fact they are often comfort objects for children.
Some sad men just don't grow out of them.

I fail to see how attempting to have a relationship with an anime character screenprinted on a pillow is any different than attempting to have a relationship with an anime character printed on anything else.
