The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

Hmmm... I didn't mean to discount Slaine as a superhero in and of himself, but that his setting is not a superhero one. I'd have to agree he is a superhero, due to his warp-spasm.

I also forgot to mention the ABC Warriors, who are not superheroes as such but are the equal of any superhero.

Happily, I am at my parents' right now. so I am going to go dig out my copy of The Ballad of Halo Jones.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

not the best stories, but a cool idea

otherwise Dr Doom in his various incarnations (but not the waste of space he was in the fanntastic 4 movies)

When first saw the art..I thought it was Moon Knight. Never really was a DC guy but that rag man looks just like Moon Knight, just with a patchwork costume instead of an all white one.

It's a tough choice. There are so many to choose from.
Batman.
After all if you had the cash and the drive, you could be batman.
He's not really a superhero per se though.
If I had to choose, I'd probably go with daredevil.

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

It has been wolverine since the early 90's when I started collecting the x-men.

Can't break his bones.
Never gets sick and heals super quick.
Very slow aging.
Pent up rage, always teetering on release.
Claws in his hands,,,

He ALWAYS has a bad ass turn of phrase ready whenever he needs it.

I'm a big fan of Dream from the sandman comics. Maybe more of an anti-hero at times, but the comics are brilliantly written.

Also a lot of love for the original crow graphic novel, though the post-movie cash in stuff is poor.

For a classic hero, gotta love iron man, and for manga battle angel alita fairly kicks arse.

Godzilla. Even wolverine doesn't mess with a 400 foot tall lizard with atomic breath and a bad disposition.

Veteran Knight Baron in a Crusader

Behind you

I'd go Iron man.
Pretty fethed up head-wise. He's had shrapnel in his chest for a few years. Lost his heart etc.

And yet, Stark always invents new suits of armor, different weapons etc. I watched the Mandarin TV series he was in, fecking awesome, he always comes back with rhodsy and Pepper.

Second would have to go to Howard the Duck. Because.....He's a DUCK dammit!

Finally, Best supervillain.
Not joker, not riddler, not twoface, not darkseide. Galactus, or the Ultimate alliance Ga lac Tus. The hive mind version. That was awesome. nothing on earth, just bones, and the bones of some very descript superheroes.

Some great mentions in here- Charley's War is awesome, as is the Ballad of Halo Jones. Not superhero fiction but always worth a mention.

I think the Superhero I'd most like to go for a beer and sandwich with is Spiderman. He's a legend, and a really decent guy.

My favourite superhero "universe" right now is Invincible, and my favourite character from that is Robot. Total genius.
