I'd have a hard time picking between my favorites: Ghost Rider in Road to Damnation, Wolverine in the same-titled Miller/Claremont book.... X-Men 1-5ish Magneto... or the Michael Collins Deathlok, for the first dozen or so issues of his book.
I guess I'd go with Magneto.

There's a difference between hero and superhero, that being said I'm not sure if Judge Dredd even qualifies as a hero but more an antihero although feel free to correct me on this as I don't know much about him but I'm interested in the recent film "Dredd" (haven't seen it yet but want to).

Nightcrawler was always my favourite superhero. Got the x-men arcade game to thank for that.
Favourite in a comic book - spiderman. But only because he appeared in a really early transformers comic. Him and Gears went off on one and managed to defeat Megatrons plan, whatever that was (ok, Meg always seemed to lose but hey, beating hims gotta count for something right?)
Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.
Though oddly I don't find that more often than not his stories aren't all that great, but when a good story comes along it is a lot of fun. I think I like the possibilities and idea better than some of the stories that have been done. If I go by what comics I have read the most of, then it would be Batman.
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
My favorite used to be Deadpool, before Marvel turned him into Wolverine-lite. Seriously? Appearing in every comic series, getting "Deadpool" covers added to each comic series...why? Plus the authors forgot how to write him. Deadpool from the 90s was where it was at-pining over Siren, getting his ass kicked by T-Ray, treating Patch like the pedophile uncle that everyone tolerates but nobody likes (but everyone makes fun of), and removing body parts from people who annoy him. Now...he's a shell of his former self.
Nightcrawler is dead, otherwise he'd be the current favorite. And AoA Nightcrawler, currently in the 616 universe, pales to the real Nightcrawler.
I'm gonna go with Cyclops-serious character growth and change. He started out as a boyscout, practically living to wipe Xavier's ass after a good gak, and now look at him: total badass, had Wolverine start a clandestine hit squad, has no problem ordering the murder of people in his way, and takes no crap. Hell, Magneto works/worked for him. Cyclops really turned himself around. He's also never been afraid of Wolverine-the guy everyone feared. Cykes is a badass. Deal with it, haters.
Also, Wolverine sucks nutsack-he's overused and hasn't been cool since the early 90s. Bring back X-men Forever: Wolverine died issue 1!
I'm in rare form today, Dakka-watch out

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Cassandra Anderson is my favorite character from comics but I wouldn't call her a superhero. I guess my favorite superhero is probably Barbara Gordon or Dick Grayson but I'm hard pressed to even narrow it down to those two.

How do you feel about Kang's get up?

I approve of Kang's boots and I've always preferred it when his face piece was more leathery than helmety.
Essentially though WIldfire still wins as he's basically a cloud of weird energy which as a bairn was just a miondblowingly awesome concept.
Plus he helepd Superboy punch Pulsar Stargrave into the sun and etc etc ad nauseum
Also as no one, not even Kang, seems that sure who he really is, he loses points there, a failure which is compounded further by his awfulness in both story and toy/accessory wise during "Secret Wars".

Funny you mention that toy ... and no one knowing who Kang is. Somehow or another, I had that toy and -- you guessed it -- had basically no idea who Kang was, even after I started collecting Marvel trading cards. I always thought he must be pretty awesome, however, just based on his outfit. Anyway, the reason I asked is because he's basically a "cool colors" variant on Wildfire (albeit with riskier boots, which I think he pulls off well enough).
