Weekly update.
#1. Custom FOC added. Now you can select FOC preset (Standard, Double, Planet strike etc.) or setup section's limits manualy. New settings dialog looks like:

Just built a list, gotta say I'm very impressed. Noticed another couple of errors, though: under the Tau Ethereal, the "Blacksun Filter" wargear option is misspelled as "Flacksun Filter." Also, under the Devilfish entry, "Disruption Pod" is misspelled as "Distruption Pod." With that out of the way, here are some thoughts.

First off, have you considered putting in statlines for units? Because that was one of the big selling points with Army Builder for me, the fact that I could print out any list I made, and it would have the statlines of every unit in said list. I mean, I'll grant that it's not a huge feature, but it's kind of nice to be able to use the list as a single reference for that sort of thing.

Second, and this is sort of a minor thing, but I might recommend changing things so that when you add a sergeant to a squad, it adds the sergeant then subtracts one from the model list, rather than having that be a manual thing. Now, it actually does this if you're using a max-sized squad, but a lot of armies don't run with max squads because they're unfeasible (seems to be pretty common with Tau and Chaos Space Marines). This is kind of a minor point though, it's just very mildly annoying to have to add a sergeant then immediately drop the squad size down by one.

Finally, as Redbeard pointed out, I have to question the price. This is more expensive than Army Builder is, and not by a terribly insignificant amount. Even at the cheapest price per month ($4.20), it still winds up being $50.40 for one full year - roughly double the price of a license extension for Army Builder (and $10 over the initial price of AB). As he said, if this was a far superior product to Army Builder, then it might be worthwhile, but as it stands, AB is still the better choice.

And yes, I know, I am aware that you guys are still in beta. I'm not saying that this won't be a better product when it gets to full release. But for the time being, I'm really not convinced to start a subscription.

With all that said, I have to say that I really like the minimalist design. It's extremely easy to glance at the list and say, "Okay, I know what's in your army now." I will say this, Army Builder's lists are quite cluttered, and this seems to solve a lot of those problems, though I do recommend having a section for what special rules each unit has, rather than just wargear. On the topic of wargear, I again applaud you, because it's often exceedingly difficult to tell what's in any given Army Builder unit, because its lists tend to just, well, list off what's in the squad rather than doing it on a per-model basis.

Overall, I do think it's a great program. It could use some work, but hey, that's why it's in beta and not at full release.

About the sergeants. It’s a very interesting remark. I'll think about what I can do, it takes a extra work, but in general I agree with you.

About the price You have a free 30 day trial. When trial finished, you can still use your account Just sometimes, you will receive a reminder that the project needs your support But if you are still not ready to subscribe to can continue to use, it’s not a problem. You can subscribe when I release enough features and make you happy

Maybe Subscription not right word, more looks like Donation, or DakkaDakka’s DCM

There's pros and cons to both.

Keeping the files online means you can access them from multiple computers or devices if they have Internet access, but not everywhere people go has Internet access that they can use.

Keeping the files on a computer or device means you can take them anywhere, but if you don't have it with you or it runs out of power, you can't just go online and get it on a different device.

Hi, Do you mean Blood Angels? I agree about Land Raider, this is bug, but not sure about problem with razorback? Squad can have any dedicated transport include razorback. Also point cost look right: they have 35 pt discount for transport.

Yes, Blood angels, sorry I forgot that. Razorback is 55 + 35 for lasplas option. It shows on dropemenu 20p but when you actually select it gives you 40p. That's the problem.

Ahh, a see, it's bug I'll fix it shortly.
About rosters ... nothing changed you just some times will receive reminder about subscription ) Also keep in mind, after changes trial policy we added 30 days for free for all premium subscribers. You can check expired date on subscription page http://hq-builder.com/premium

I really like hq builder, its awesome. Just a sidenote: power swords on a C:SM command squad are bugged, the selection always reads plasmaguns. Also, rhinos don't come with a storm bolter they buy one.

I just tried doing a new eldar list, I ran into a problem.

When editing fire dragons the exarch is always an extra model plus exarch upgrade cost.

Normally its possible to upgrade one of the original 5 FD to exarch and not add an extra FD plus exarch.

Rikuturso, Assault transport bug fixed. About sanguinary priests, agree, it's bit not clear from point of view UI but they "count as" 1/3 unit for check Elite section limit, so you can add 3 priest in 1 elite slot. Same for DA librarian. You can add Command Squad as separate unit (not librarian option) but CS unit not fill HQ slot, and count ad 1 slot with Librarian. This is done to be able to replace the commander but not rebuild command squad.

Ace101. Power sword/plasmagun fixed. But about Storm Bolter... I C:SM p.135 Storm bolter in Wargear section AND may be taken as option. So you can have 2 storm bolters on rhino.

MRPYM. It's not exactly bug but also problem with usability. When you select exarch - you ADD exarch model to unit, bit not upgrade existing model. But from this moment can drop common FD count to minimum 4. and you can have 4 FD + 1 exarch. But, agree, it's not very clear for user, and i'll think how it can be fixed.

Just tried making an Eldar list though right now and selecting a Spiritseer doesn't unlock Wraithguard/blades as troops. Just a minor niggle though.

Hehe, now when you field a Wraithseer along with Wraithguard/blades as troops, it gives an error saying you must field Wraithguard in order to have a Wraithseer.

Very minor thing though, love the site!

As discussed earlier, I use HQ-Builder all of the time, just a shame it doesn't work on old internet explorer versions (which my work uses, of course). I would be happy to pay to help support if this capability comes in.
