BOW moved a few months ago. In their move to Kent, Darrel seemed to stay behind. Yes, he made some visits, but hasn't been on many videos in the last few months.

Hey man they moved to Essex. Big difference. One is the garden of England and the other is a latrine north of London

BOW went downhill after the guy John left, he was the guy who knew tons about WW2 and 40k and was a better painter than what they have now. He was much easier to follow and easier to listen to than Romain's awkward silences.
Fair play to Darrell for starting this, but it's a lost cause, he is a good tournament player, but doesn't know much beyond Space Puppies.

i kind of liked a few of his ideas, especially playing live games. But what would be kool is playing via webcam. But he really needs a staff of people for all of the other games out their. Especially all of the Historical Wargamers, more people are leaving the GW games and playing them.
He has also inspired me to start my own kickstarter up. i think i will call it three drunk guys in gargage Wargaming.... Featuring Flames of war,Blood bowl, 40k and Fantasy.
ahh.. what the heck i think illl throw him a fiver,if things go the worst for him atleast he can get a couple pints.

I have a feeling this will turn to be just like miniwargaming.....possibly go good for a little while but then charge a subscription fee to watch anything.

No need to worry about subscription fees on youtube, always plenty of batreps there too. Oh and as for live....meh, time zone problems, long drawn out turns with no fast forward or skip ahead.

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

GENERATION 9: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Beasts of War is probably worse for this subscription thing. At least you gets downloadable DVDs from MWG.

Cancelled. Such a shame, showed great potential.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

I think it's still doing a good job realizing its greatest potential - as a textbook example of how not to run a Kickstarter.

Maybe this will knock his completely unjustified arrogance levels down a bit. Him and the remaining BoW people all came across as complete spankers. Apart from the ginger guy with the beard, he seemed alright.

Hmmm, I have not taken much more than a glance at BoW in a fairly long while.

Mostly... it comes down to their extremely non-critical reviews.

Everything is always excellent....

This does not endear sites such as IGN to me nor did I like it all that much on BoW. I want critiques with teeth, that point out the bad as well as the good.

Darrel... at least had the spine to say when he did not like something (Finecast!).

I wish Darrel luck.

The reason I bought rules and became a real wargamer was because I wanted a properly thought out structure to govern the action instead of just making things up as I went along.

I blame the competing lemonhead kickstarter people keep talking about. I hear their next stretch goal was a pack of warheads with each 25+ GBP pledge.
