Absolutely. I will be playing it as often as possible. I am fortunate enough to have 3-4 other gamers that are into it, and 1 other guy I game with is as hardcore as I am.

Apocalypse is off the hook fun. The epic battles you can wage are the stories of black library books. You do need to set aside a day to play it, but it is so worth it.

Purchase wise it will just be the book and templates for me. I already have 5 Apocalypse sized armies, and don't need a lot more model wise. I already have 3 book shelves full of terrain as well.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Some of the stuff that happened in our last game:

Draigo tanked all the shooting during 1 turn from a baneblade that came in from reserve.

Epidemius (old rules) maxed his tally turn 1 and went inside a nurgle plague tower on turn 2. That was ugly, considering there were 60 plague marines on the table.

There were 5 heldrakes, 3 stormravens, and 3 vendettas all on the table at once.

Marneus Calgar + honor guard, most of the space wolf special characters, Draigo + Coteaz all fought together to take on Abaddon and Typhus and a legion of Chaos.

Abaddon got taken out by a rune priest who used JOTWW.

It was so much fun. A standard 40K game doesn't even begin to compare.

I would love to play Apoc, but like many of the guys at the store I go to. Its hard to find the time.

Model wise I could easily construct some of the defensive emplacements like the vengeance weapon batterys (they are essentially Tank turrets welded to bunkers anyways) but the biggest issue is the "Rules in The Box" deal. my guess is its going to be a heavily armored immobile Leman Russ. but I can't be sure until I get my hands on the rules themselves.

The rule book ill probly grab though.

In light of the new Apoc book, I have destroyed 2 of my defilers to make a brass scorpion today. Also repainted all my Sister Rhinos, Exorcists, and Immolaters. I'm pretty excited over the new book. I'm hoping I can organize an Apoc game at my local store within the next 6 months

In another time, the Apoc books and templates would have been a group purchase for me. Now, most of my friends are frankly quite apathetic about this whole Apocalypse thing. For the first time in years, we may skip this one.

However, I've voted "Yes: Moderate purchase". I'll contribute some cash if we finally agree on getting it, and will come along for an Apocalypse game if we manage to get one running,

Also, I may or may not get a Stompa sometime in the future, just to get it before GW decides to mess with its price. I happen to love that mini.

I like playing Apoc games. It they can be pretty fun. They allow you to play models that don't normally see the light of day in a typical game of 40K. Not to mention the various cool conversions you see people do with super heavies. Also, with the new HH rules and figures. The games can be very fun. I enjoy seeing various conversions that gamers' pull out and enjoy showing off mine as well. Besides, how often is it that you can say " I killed a baneblade."

I may pick up some stuff from this edition from it but, we'll see. I think the new Strategic Asset cards will make things a lot easier when memorizing who has the options of what. Will I pick up the limited edition case would be cool but, sadly outside my price range. If they had some decent deals come out for army formations I think I'd be willing to bite the bullet for one of them.

I'll get my hands on the new book most likely, and I'll get the Devestator captain cause he's awesome. I really like those new dice too...

On moon miranda.

I'll buy the book. I was seriously considering the Gamers Edition because I do have enough superheavies to use a case like that and it's a nice case, I find the book to be more mis-priced than the case in all honesty But alas, don't have the scratch right now for it (damn you student loans!) A couple of the new fortifications look interesting but they're definitely a "maybe, but later" purchase. The templates I'll probably pick up when I actually get around to playing a game of Apoc.

That said, nothing else really appeals to me. The Chaos bot-thingy looks ridiculous. Despite being an avid Iron Warriors player with lots of love for Daemon Engines, I have zero interest in Khorne-zord. It looks like something I'd find at Toys-R-Us. Not quite sure what they were thinking with it, but it certainly misses the spot for me.

I don't play Necrons so their new mega-monolith thing is irrelevant.

I got my 4 baneblades years ago when they were still $90 and didn't even pay that much for them, screw paying $140 for them now.

The new SM models are now officially at Forgeworld price levels (seriously, GW's Captain with Jump Pack is 15 GBP and FW's Captain with Jump Pack is 15 GBP) and I don't play loyalist Space Marines, so those are out.

I don't need anything from the one-click deals and they're all mega-expensive anyway so I'm not even tempted to start something new (the original Apocalypse release was the catalyst for my Eldar and Tau armies)

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

Initially I was all: "No way would I ever have the number of models required to play Apoc!"

That was until I had a browse through the One click deals on the GW website... I discovered with the purchase of 2 Lictors I can field 4 out of 5 of the battle formations for Tyranids...

Wow.

Get your models on the table and looking good!

7k?

What you need to experience is 50k a side. 100,000 points on an 10 x 8 table is absolutely insane, and decidedly memorable.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Voted no as I'm not a fan of big games. They take way too long for very little result IMO. If I could have clicked on more than one I would have clicked on the next one down as well. $76.00 for the rules + $160 for the Tesseract Vault = $236....too much for my limited budget right now. I will be looking on E-Bay for that C'Tan shard bit however....nice, simple model that I can see being sold there.

No, because GW already had an Apocalypse version of 40K called Epic and it tanked. I can't see myself putting that kind of money into a game that will be the hot thing for maybe a month or two that everyone ends up walking away from.
The first time Apocalypse came out everyone here was all over it. Then it petered out, leaving those that got heavily into it with pricey models and units they could never use selling stuff on Ebay for a fraction of what they paid for it.

No, despite i play orks and they live for apoc.

Reason being the rules always seem even more skeptical and poorly interpreted than normal 40k is, and most of the models available break the normal way of playing 40k to be more of who goes first and doesnt fail his/her rolls rather than any tactic whatsoever (as though 40k needed less tactic to it..)

That and its stupid expensive lol

A critic of a poll shouldn't try to discount a poll they obviously don't like by failing to read and understand that the poll is misleading because a moderator edited it and changed the votes, not because the author of the poll doesn't like it.

I will inevitably play it since the local 40k club is really big into Apocalypse. They have people who have been playing since Rogue Trader and spend a lot of money on armies and terrain. I probably won't be making any extra purchases, though.

Congratulations on missing the point entirely. If you'd read the OP you would have noticed that this was about the PRICE of the new releases, not the rules, since I posted this poll before we saw the rules.
