If only that were true! It says Unit, not Model.
I think BA have some cool powers, sadly not each of them is worth taking... Like the Blood Lance. Maybe if you deepstrike a libby in a droppod you can use it to hit 2-3 vehicles in someones deployment zone, but other than that the power generally won't do much good.

About the only time Blood lance is worth anything, is if your fighting an IG gunline, but even then if they have them in squadrons even if the lance goes through 3 artillery pieces they are in the same unit.

Whereas you can just generate all your powers from the telepathy discipline and end up with decent powers (hallucination is my favourite) I suppose you could always use "house rules", just until the new dex comes out? technically speaking most of us have been by the sounds of it.

Nope, hence why people don't deep-strike them. It's really inferior to actually driving up the field with it.

You could always go with locator beacons on pods or Scout bikes. I still see this as inferior to driving them up though, for two reasons:
1) without DoA, there's no guarantee of your 400+ point transport and unit turning up on turn 2 and
2) you can't make use of it being an Assault Vehicle when you arrive anyway, so you're assaulting on turn 3 at best.

To be fair, harsh as this might sound, you might actually be better off if you don't get a new Codex for a while, considering what's happened to the other MEQ melee choices in 6th edition:
Black Templars look set to lose everything that made them better than an average Assault Marine in Close Combat.
Mutilators exist.
Warp Talons.
Above all else, Khorne Berzerkers. Look at them.
It doesn't look as though as though Games Workshop is that friendly to MEQ melee currently. One can only hope that they'll change their minds, at least then I'd be able to ally in decent MEQ melee units.

This is true. And its why my Blood Angels are collecting dust at the moment. I'm hoping we get a cheap way to get FnP, or at least make Sanguinary Guard viable.

1. No thanks, Death Company and terminators don't mix.
2. Would be cool.
3. I like the current Tycho model, its Dante that I think needs an update. I think our characters have fine stats, they just need a rework on special rules.
4. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Blood Angels-specific flyers similar to what the Dark Angels got.
Agree, I have never been over keen on the Dante model, Tycho atleast has a bit of a heritage attached to it, it is one of the oldest models which is still available.
I don't think Death Company should have access to terminator armour either, it is supposed to be very rare and designed to prolong life I do however think there should be more done to encourage people to take a Death Company in their army, perhaps even make atleast a 5 man squad compulsory? (maybe as one of the troop choices)
I would be interested to see a customised flyer for the blood angels, or perhaps a greater emphasis on deepstriking/drop podding.

Apparently they think the DC dreadnought is gak, and that frag cannons are good. What time is it in wonderland?
Like the proposed changes to the characters, though.

Maybe that's because they are 'meeh' and Frag Cannons are that good?
I wish we got that as a special weapon-choice for other units
I think we should update that thread now that we know what we can expect (looking at CSM).

What I would like to see:
1) A reliable cheap assault vehicle or a rhino/drop-pod upgrade to the same effect.
2) Point reduction units and war gear in line with SM and DA
3) Fast melee dreads.
4) Jump-pack price reduction Death company
5) Grav weapon unit

Ah yes; Grav weapons. A completely new form of weapon "cough"rogue trader"cough". A whole squad of them would certainly improve our future prospects, but sadly I don't think that will come to pass.

I don't think grav weapons are the answer at all. We already have Infernus pistols (which no other army has, at all, except *maybe* if you count Eldar/Dark Eldar blasters) and easier access to meltaguns. If you ask me I think the return of grav weapons is an answer to that and Dark Angels having plasma, so that vanilla Marines get something special in the armoury too.
Plus, above anything else... *it's a gun*. We're not a shooting army, although technically we *can* pull it off, I'd hate to see our 6th saviours come in the form of Devastator Centurions or some fancy new type of Predator or flyer. We're an iconic close combat chapter, dammit, give us the means to win battles via close combat again, not shooting.

I suspect grav weapons are intended as a balancing measure against MC spam lists. I don't see why the grav ability cannot become a melee weapon option in time.
