If you want to see pathetic ego trips on carrying, go to reddits everyday carry sub.

Apparently 21 year old pizza delivery drivers carry 3 large knives, 3 guns and 4 zippo lighters. Plus wallets and phones.

A friend of mine carried his pistol when he worked in a Subway. Allegedly, he actually scared off someone trying to rob the store with it. As it was in the middle of nowhere in a relatively low income area and probably an easy target, I would almost believe him.

I'm not offering this in support of anything, just thought I'd comment.

Also, I don't know what to say about your guy, other than maybe he had 10 hands, and thus had the ability to actually use all those things at once.

It's still a man-bag, you may as well wear a dress.

Get a backpack, far less confusing for random passers by..

But to answer your question....

Its a UK trivia show hosted by Stephen Fry.

All the episodes are on you tube and I suggest giving it a watch.

I carry a Kindle, a laptop, my phone, and a Clif Bar.

I'm more scared of getting bored than getting shot.

We do have purses, actually. They are called satchels. I have one myself, and it's very handy for long trips.

In the Army, some LTs (and I guess other folks) carried one of these in the field:

Holds your map, OPORD, protractor and stuff.

Interestingly enough I never heard them referred to as anything other than a 'cigarette bag' or 'purse'. Granted, that was in a less PC era than we are currently in and I was in combat arms units where sensitivity was not very common. Caveman like grunts and hand gestures were the primary form of communicating.

EDIT: I did not type cigarette. I guess Dakka auto-corrects the term I used.

Tied and gagged in the back of your car

Sure, getting around in normal, adult, everyday life is easy without a bag, but back in highschool, I couldn't imagine surviving without something to hold stuff.

You'd see kids walking around with bags filled with 6+ textbooks that likely ended up weighing more than they did.

Honestly, in 4 Years of HS, I never needed my backpack... this was because all my homework was done in class, and therefore I didn't need to take any books outside of school. The people who do that sort of thing are either not very intelligent and have to work harder at maintaining grades, or they are trying too damn hard (and are missing the fun of being in HS)

Also: Staying in the best shape of their lives. I walked about a mile to and from school usually with 3-4 textbooks in a backpack. I weighed about 180 lbs back then, and very little of it was fat.

Well, there was a valley in the middle, and it was in central Illinois, so technically, yes, sometimes.

Well, not the barefoot though. I guess you got me there.
