I'm the same way, except for me it isn't about time, it's about that the game is just so damn boring to play.

My old account was apparently hacked and I have no idea how. I was well past caring by that point though.

This is why I wont give them a dime of my money ever again. My old account was hacked, then I fixed it, then hacked again big time, and had to call Blizzard, it was fixed. Then hacked again. So I bought an authenticator AND changed my passwords to passwords that were so complex I had to write them down just to remember them....alongside the authenticator. Hacked again. Called. Fixed. Ran several programs that searched for keyloggers and anitvirals and you name it. Nothing. OK. Hacked.........fixed.....reinstalled (only thing I could think of *shrugs*)

Guess what happened a week later? You guessed it. Hacked. Even after ALL that, they still pretended to not have a CLUE how someone is hacking my account. So I politely told them to frack off, and never gave them a glance again.

Seems like you did everything right there. Can't say I could be arsed anymore if I got hacked after getting an authenticator.

Kind of makes me think that blizzard's system's been compromised somehow.

That's the conclusion I came up with. So whether it was intentional on their part or not, I don't care, they won't get money from me again.

I like how time travel's a huge no-go lore issue for everyone, but everybody was cool with it when some blue aliens showed up in their spaceship to fight with axes and other primitive weaponry.

I have not been cool with ANY of the story decisions sense vanilla WoW (which is why I refuse to every play WoW) but I desire closure for a story that i love (Warcraft 3)

Blizzard hasn't been able to tell a good story since the Starcraft background (and even then that is almost all in the manual that came with the original big box and apparently no where else).

There are films shown at 2AM on the horror channel with a more coherent and interesting story than anything that Blizzard has churned out in recent years.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

no one had a problem when the green aliens showed up in warcraft 1...

its a naaru ship and its more of a Building that floats and just Teleports from one location to another, it doesn't actually fly.

Personally .. actually, I did.

The Warcraft setting was coolest in WC3 and the accompanying roleplaying game. After WoW got released, it just got worse with every expansion. That's just my opinion, of course, but imho it's too much about dragons and fun and rainbows these days - a stark contrast to what almost became a setting more grimdark than Warhammer Fantasy:

Warcraft sourcebook - Lands of Conflict wrote:When the battle started, Arend’s survival instinct took over. For a time he felt no fear, no disgust and no rage, none of the emotions that had driven him to join the Scarlet Crusade in the first place. He had watched the Scourge rip his town and his loved ones to pieces, and for a time Arend thought he would never feel anything again. Then the emotions had returned and had nearly destroyed him. He thought now that he had gone mad for a time. The Crusade helped him heal. With every blow he struck against the Scourge, the pain eased a little. It always came back, of course, but if he kept fighting he could keep the pain at bay.

This had been the worst battle ever. Rotting corpses besieged him from all sides. Arend swung his sword over and over, stabbing through the bodies of his enemies until they lay in shreds before him. In any ordinary battle, his blade and gauntlets would be scarlet with blood. These abominations left only black ichor behind. Three knights swept around him and gave Arend a moment to catch his breath. His breast heaved under the heavy armor and sweat ran into his eyes. He hefted his sword and started forward again.

Through the haze of battle he saw a figure turn to him. Lithe beneath the torn clothes, obviously female even in undeath. The color of her hair and the tilt of her head almost stopped Arend’s heart.

"Lise?"

His wife made no reply, and her eyes held no light of recognition. Arend stood frozen in horror for only a moment. Then, with a moan, he raised his sword again.

... alas, the adult darkness and despair that this setting holds so much potential for have generally been swept away by cute furry player races, sexualised character models, and a new creative development agenda that has gradually watered down the differences between the many different cultures in favour of a Black vs White approach.

Le sigh.

I stopped at the end of WotLK. Last month I used some free play time to install the game and see if I wanted to jump back in.

I got a panderan to level 4 and logged in to orgrimmar for a few mins - chat was filled with things I'd never heard of and the city was completely different. I just don't have the motivation to start from scratch since its been too long.

First glimpses of the undead female... causing a mixed reaction on the webs. I like them, but some are suggesting they are too pretty.

As some noted wait until we see the jawless face and the scooped out eyes head.

I didn't tend to go running around the nude on my characters, but I think the underwear could do with covering a little more, mainly the bottom.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Yeah, pretty much. Blizzard destroyed the Grim Dark in an effort to bring in a wider fan base.

I remember reading something about China basically having that kind of model for years. Something about the undead not being able to show the more "disgusting" bits like the broken jaws, etc or Blizzard cannot sell WoW in China.

Aye, in fact I know a few people who would love to have the option in the western version of WoW to switch to the Chinese Forsaken models. (No bones sticking out.)

Those apothecaries do good work apparently. I mean if you have good dead flesh and someone wants to look better, I suppose you can get some good cheap fleshwork done.
