There is more where that came from:

How have you never heard of Star Trek?

I think the difference here is though, that with most Trekkies, they accept and have had written in, time travel bringing about alternate universes. So yeah, they may get more up in arms over things before they happen, once they do, many/most of them settle back down and enjoy the ride.

It's pretty easy to ignore everything after DS9. Heck, the writers themselves apparently think of the entire series Enterprise as a bad holodrama.

It's only free because it failed miserably when it was released.
The trailer are awesome though!

It wasn't certainly wasn't perfect, but I found it to be quite good. I tried every class to about level 20 and I especially enjoyed the Imperial Agent story line (it was the class I got furthest with in the game), which offered a side of the Star Wars Galaxy that isn't seen often. I think the real problem is that the game as a whole didn't take enough risks (the space combat, for instance, is one area that could have been much better) and people just got burnt out on it. It's a shame, really.

To be fair, that's not a very high bar to jump over.....

Episode one doesn't feth up as much stuff as the others. It's still awful, but the prequels only get worse as they go on. Episode one is just the prelude to a pair of turds.

Which is a shame since Enterprise really had a TON of potential.

Either empire strikes back or RotJ - but I gotta be honest...... I'm leaning towards the ewoks

See, the Ewoks are what put me off - I actually liked the bit in the Family guy version where Peter (as Han) makes some Imperials dig their own graves with their helmets because there's been "too much cutesy stuff".
They should have been Wookies, we might have seen one actually rip someone's arms off!

There were bits of the Prequels I liked - Droidekas were cool, and Darth Maul was my hero as a kid - plus the set piece scenes in 2 and 3 were quite fun, because if there's a large scale battle with stuff blowing up and weird contraptions spewing laser fire, I'm always happy to watch!

This all kinda makes me wonder whatever happened to the Star Wars: Battlefront series. It had such promise, and never seemed to really materialize.

There's a new one in production right now by DICE (the guys behind the Battlefield games). In the mean time, Battlefront 2 still stands up as one of the best games of all time for me. It doesn't have the best graphics or mechanics, but really, it's very hard to find a fault with it.

The Empire Strikes Back is not only the best of the Star Wars franchise, it's also the best Sci Fi movie ever made.

Anyone that says otherwise feels differently.

Yeah, I definitely feel differently.

I am personally a bigger fan of The 5th Element, and Blade Runner as stand-alone awesome sci-fi movies (or is it sy fy now?)

The 5th Element was an excellent space comedy, second only to Ice Pirates.

Any movie with Space Herpies will win it's category.

Pandemic was working on Battlefront 3, and it look awesome, but EA shut them down before it was finished (from what I remember reading). Now, DICE is working on a Battlefront 3. I'm hopeful, but not holding my breath.

On-Topic: It's a really tough choice, but I'd have to go with Episode V. Episode IV is a close second, though. I grew up wanting to pilot an X-Wing, and imagining I was racing down that tunnel to blow up the Death Star when riding my bike.

Edit - Here's a recent article on the status of Battlefront 3.

This is a true statement, although Spaceballs with its tap dancing alien replete with cane and tophat is definitely in the finals.

What I got from the article was "Battlefront 3 suspended whilst Dice finish making the rest of Battlefield 4".

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Right? Kinda bummed me out. But at least they seem like they don't want to rush Battlefront 3 out the door like BF4.
