It's the army I mentioned in my comment on the last page. I think people had more trouble with the daughters if the flame on My Little Ponies that are also in the army.

I think those conversions look awesome. I cannot understand the gak storm they kicked up on another board. I hope to see pictures of that force when It's finished.

With Warmachine it tends to not be people disliking the models themselve but rather the legality and ease of identification problem. Warmachine is a fast paced game and having ambiguity as to whats what can cause problems. Its not exactly fair to your opponent if he thought one of your jacks was a Templar but it was actually the Avatar.

PP is trying to cover their butts. Copy rite is strict in the US and by the off chance a photo is shot at an event of a symbol they don't own and they in turn sell that photo in No Quarter they can be sued over it. Even if that copy rite material is not in the focus and just in the background.

It is simple, before the game you ask what is what and remember. That logic never got me.

Do you play a lot of deathclock?
We had a PG here who ok'd the use of Bane Thralls fitted with Bane Knight lances. The idea was simple- thralls and knights were more or less the same beast, like Stormblades and Stormguard just waving different whacky sticks about. But the PG also ok'd leaving of the shields since they aren't a weapon, which meant the only way to determine which was which was to actually look at the weapon. Now given one unit has stealth and another has vengeance target selection matters. If I make a mistake- like using a storm smith sub optimally (and losing out on a triangulation) because I thought your Bane Knight was a Thrall and I had no other way to mitigate stealth... or if I shoot your Bane Thrall with my ATGM thinking that at 12" away I'm safe- only to find out that your unit gets a 3" vengeance move because they're actually Knights... Anyway there's 'remembering' what something is and there's looking at it and downright mistaking it for something else. Granted it's not the most common scenario but it's a terrible way to lose a game.
