Don't have a car, or a bike, I walk or take the bus.
Though it's best to not think about irrational insanities, most people assume I will go there, where most people often don't.
Even if I wouldn't do something insane like burn someone's house down for getting cheeto dust on one of my precious dolls, they think I would. People honestly think I would.
And the human mind is more powerful a tool then any I could ever buy.
Truth be told I am not violent at all, just petty. That breaking of miniatures thing happened when I was 19, I like to think I am a tad more mature lol, and genuinely do try and get along with people nowadays.

Our "that guy":
-smells and has apocalyptic dandruff
-plays dark eldar
-gets upset and gives up if the opponent gets 10ish% ahead of him in point values of models left. (IE he loses a couple ravagers in a 2k game.
-rushes through shooting without telling you what is shooting it where.
-Started getting interested in Eldar "conveniently" when they suddenly became one of the top-tier codices.
-Claims he took whatever upgrade or option when it would come up, but asking to see the list results in "oh...I guess I messed up and didn't take it."
-curses when a shadowfield blocks any less than 20 wounds.
-Won't play against any new big unit. Gorkanauts, morkanauts, knights, etc. (even though he loves to spam ravagers, so he should have a decently easy time with them.)
Our runner-up TG is the guy that cheats out of sheer stupidity. Miscounts dice, uses the wrong stat, forgets super basic rules, uses the "can I take that back then, I wouldn't have done that if I knew that" line a lot.
-gets mad when you won't let him time travel back a turn so he can play better.

Says all I need to know, and respectfully, I'd rather not play you. Ever.
As far as that guy, I've played against him (the imperial him) on a few occasions in tournament settings. I'm generally very laid back and don't take things seriously or personally. Water off a ducks back, etc.
However, if someone gets physical, or damages another person's property, I take umbrage with it and will detain them for authorities if need be. I work in Law Enforcement (police, specifically), and have no qualms stopping illegal activities, even when not at work.
Nobody should ever attack another person, or damage another person's property. Anyone who does should be held responsible for their actions. If someone does something that makes you upset enough to act that way, then you need to remove yourself from that environment and distance yourself from the person causing you to feel that way. Talk to that person later once you've calmed down and if they're not willing to compromise and change their behavior, then cut the ties and go find a different place to play where you're not around that person any more.
Just my thoughts on the matter. Take it easy.

Well I paint only these days, suppose there's speed painting but I always enjoyed speed painting.
But yeah, I do admit that was a dick move, it happened nearly 7 years ago... I've grown up a bit, we can't all be model youth/young adults.

To which the reply is, "No, pay attention to the game if you want to play."
Honestly, deliberately concealing your rolls from the opponent is one thing, but if they want to wander off into faerieland in the middle of my turn while I'm trying to shoot them, they're going to come back to "Oi, earth to Major Tom. You need to roll some saves please."
Or, worse, wander off to some other table. I only have four hours a week gaming time. I really don't want to waste it.

No. I'm not that guy.

*salutes*
i personnally find it very annoying when some when turns up who smels like they just bathed in nurgle's own couldren, but i wouldn't say anything for politeness' sake. maybe offer some deodorent, but that would be it.
i go in to the locl game workshop one every 2-4 weeks, for about 6 hours, and honestly, it's the only social thing i do (out side of school).
so i shoer the night before i go, if i can i shower the morning before too, wash and comb my hair, wear my (only) pair of jeans and wear a casualformal wear t-shirt. i do tend to be a little awkward, and if i'm in a badmood i'll apply make up over the large birth mark covering half my face. because people in shpping centre stare. and it is really annoying.
i wear deoderant too, and if i eat, i'll leann my hands on a napkin, and neer touch an opponents models unles given explicet permission.

To which the reply is, "No, pay attention to the game if you want to play." I'm fine with honest mistakes. I make them, and I allow people a take back once in a while. But when it becomes a pattern, my group uses the expression I coined for the biggest dick we ever played with: "Know your gak, dude."

Glad to hear you've grown out of it. Personally I think intentionally damaging someone else's stuff is one of the most disrespectful things you can do and I find it hard to have respect for anyone who would do something like that. You could physically or verbally attack me and as long as you don't cause serious/permanent damage I'll mostly just laugh it off... I'll think you're insane, but I'll just laugh it off.... and maybe call the cops if I'm feeling particularly annoyed. I don't know what it's like to be the target of sexist remarks, but I have been the target of bitter racial slurs and I mostly just look at them and laugh. When that crosses over to intentionally damaging my stuff, that shows a combination of insanity and disrespect that brings out the spiteful and vengeful side of my nature.

Yeah my reasoning was it hurt a person far more-far more then name calling or the like, I was none to friendly back then.
It was worse when I was a child, when I was a child I had an "enemy's list" (in reality it was simply people I didn't lend my pokemon pencil tops to, or let play my game boy, it really all revolved around pokemon) but other kids saw me as rather deranged and were afraid to be on it.
I mean it didn't matter that I was the smallest, weakest child in the grade, and nothing ever happened (except they didn't get to use my awesome pokemon pencil tops... maybe that hurt them far more then I thought lol)
God I was a weird little kid.
But we all have to grow up sometime, we can't all be insanely petty forever.

I think I might have accidentally started a new type of "That Guy", see I moved about a year ago to an area that has several places to wargame. One of this places is really cool its a FLGS but above them is a clubhouse/gaming room owned and operated by a group of miniwargamers..... Anyway I frequent the shop kinda regularly, the first couple of times I bought 40k they invited me to the club, even showed me around it and I swore I'd come and play but..... Then work, school, and other things got in the way and I just sort of never was able to make it, anyway I kept going to the store and I noticed I now get looks like "hey look its the donkey-cave who think's he's too cool for us".
So if any of the "boyz" from the US version of Moscow are on here, I swear the douchy looking bro guy who always buys Berzerkers and random Bones minis is not an elitist prick I've just been busy, and haven't been able to paint my army up proper.

my local group is "blessed" with two people who each embody parts of "THAT GUY"
one who only showers when it rains, has been playing his army for years and still "forgets" that some of his Named characters do not have IC.
the other seems able to warp reality when he argues a rule. you remember the way a passage is worded, he quotes something different. you go to read that passage, and it is EXACTLY THE WAY HE SAYS IT, with no room for your memory to even be plausible.

Well the second guy is obviously Fateweaver in disguise so I'd say you're boned.

My FLGS is basically a large collection of people walking the line between being competitive and being that guy. We've all been on the wrong side of the line once or twice, and some people have set up fortresses there.
Honestly, I can put up with the scent of an avid gamer, it's the arguing and reckless interpretations of rules that make me want to curl into a ball. I hate it when someone starts an hour long deep dive into the rulebook in retaliation for a couple good dice throws.
In my 6 Heldrakes thread, I described the 4-month long reign of terror one of those guys had over my local gaming group.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/571387.page
As an update, That Guy switched from CSMs to Tyranids when the new rulebook came out. He's reformed a little bit since his army stopped winning every single game, he actually made a joke the other day that amused me.

In our FLGS there's one That Guy and he's always being tempered by the staff and players. Sometimes bit harsh, I agree, but he's repeatedly shown himself as TFG who doesn't wish to change, so we have to be very direct with him to make him understand why the stuff he does is bad.
