It is considering that Moorcock himself has denied any such links. Remember, he wrote Elric when he was a 17 year old student, and not particularly well-studied.
He can deny all he likes, doesn't make it true. George RR Martin can deny any similarities he likes between The Wall in Westoros and Hadrian's Wall but it doesn't make it true.
Everyone is taught religion to some degree, especially Christianity as the most widespread religion in the world, especially in the First World like the US and Britain. My comparisons covered the basics of the Christian concept of God. The Old Testament says he is wrathful and visits vengeance upon his defamers. Think the great flood of Noah's time and casting Adam and Eve out. He is also a bringer of Plague and Famine and all that (as all-powerful dictator of everything) such as the Moses story. As God, he is incomprehendable to the human mind. He exists at all points in time and space and knows and plans everything. His plans rules everything. And finally, you have Satan, who's followers (Satanists) promote such things as self-indulgence bordering on hendonism. So there you have Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch and Slaanesh.

The Old Testament says he is wrathful and visits vengeance upon his defamers.
So was Marduk, a much older god than that of the tribes of Israel.
Think the great flood of Noah's time and casting Adam and Eve out
Both stories that exist in a dozen different ancient religions in one form or another, it is only Evangelicals who consider these to be factual in basis, rather than parables or myths.
He is also a bringer of Plague and Famine
So were Pazuzu and Ereshkiggal, both Sumerian, and both older than the tribes of Israel entirely.
Satan, who's followers (Satanists) promote such things as self-indulgence bordering on hendonism.
There's no "bordering on", Satanism *is* hedonism... but the Church of Satan did not exist when Michael Moorcock wrote Elric. His books predate LaVey's founding of the Church of Satan by 5 years, at the least.

You say this man was not well educated? How the hell would he have known about Sumerian and the rest of those Gods you mentioned?
His work predates the Church of Satan, but I'm refering to GW's work, not Moorcock's. And the question isn't whether his work predates the book, its whether it predates the idea.

That Moorcock's work predates Levey is important because it is from Moorcock that the entire concept of Chaos, as GW has presented it, is based on the works of Moorcock. Which is not at all surprising, as he was one of the foremost English fantasy authors of the 2nd half of the 20th century. I would be shocked, actually, if his works were not adopted into the myth-scape of the very-English Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40K settings, especially in the early days.
And Moorcock would learn about Sumerian deities and such from the same places that many others of his generation did: Weird Tales Magazine and R.E. Howard books.

Depends on what you mean by best. I view Khorne as the strongest in terms of combat. But I find Slaanesh to be the most unsettling by far, I feel he stands out as vile and corrupting even next to the others.
