I like the idea of the BA being surrounded and having suffered huge losses only for a force of yellow armored marines to drop from the sky via jump pack and save the day.
By the way, am I the only one that thinks the noble dude whose blood the BA are after is part of a genestealer cult?

Isn't Sanguinius buried on Baal? If so I can image that the Hive fleet wants his genome, perhaps like a mini-astronomicon. The Blood Angles summon all of their successor chapters and a **HUGE** battle is fought through-out the Baal system. Aid from the Imperium comes but thanks to the intense shadow in the warp, only 1/3 gets through in time to help. The Fleet has gorged itself on ork DNA, making its brood harder to kill and better at melee, even to beat even the berserker frenzy of the BA.
But just as all seems lost, the Silent King of the Necrons arrives and turns the tide. Calculating that if Baal fell then the chances of defeating the Tyranid incursion would drop to unacceptably low levels

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! It's bad enough living under the shame of BA necron fist bumps after that shameful and poorly written piece of (I'm not going to dignify it with the word fluff) filth from the last codex. I'd rather be wiped from the galaxy than endure the shame of being bros with tin men!

Fine, not the Silent King. Make it Assholetep that comes to Ba'al's rescue...
... but some Scout Marine makes the mistake of referring to him as Szarekh, and so all life is extinguished within the sub-sector.

An Exterminatus, while denies the Hive Fleet the resources, doesn't really stops it. That's why Kryptman's massive Exterminatus campaign didn't stop Leviathan, only slowed it.

Or even better, maybe as the Tyranids are about to get ahold of Sanguinius's corpse, the Blood Ravens steal it and flee the system, so they can paint him in their colors and pretend they were a founding chapter.

I voted no, because well, feth Tyranids.
1 - Tyranids are dumb, typical alien bugs with zero substance, they don't deserve a founding chapter kill.
2 - Ultramarines held their homeworld/system with minimal Guard presence and a battered fleet - if Baal falls with all of the Successor chapters around...well, I wont' be shocked because GW.
3 - I would love to read about the fight though, I'd also like to see something done with the demon lord that was supposed to be invading the Baal system too; Ka'Bhanda or something?

Ka'Banda.
I can't recall the 'date' on the Leviathan campaign - Ka'Banda's attack is the 'closing date' entry at 999.999.M41 - so if Leviathan is before this, we know Baal survives, unless this is getting retconned out of existance.
Stopping Behemoth wasn't just the Ultramarines - much of the segmentum fleet was involved in the battle, and the macragge defence auxillia is hardly minimal guard presence. Plus, legio praetor has been mentioned before as being involved and....err...hasn't been since, so you've got a titan legio kill at the same time.

Leviathan is decidedly not Behemoth.
Having Baal and the surrounding systems be destroyed by Leviathan, with the Blood Angels and their successors sent running, would be an ideal way of demonstrating that the Tyranid threat is intensifying and to jab a little bit of "wow, that actually happened!" into the Time of Ending.

The ultramarines have somthing like several hundred worlds to call upon, there well trained elite pdf forces. There pdf is trained to a much higher standard due to marines nature.
Wiki lists they can keep several hundred regiements under arms and eqiped on a normal basis.
They also have a fleet of there own mini navy to call upon as needed and for basic duties not needing a marine ship.

Unless Primarch flesh has some special chemical structure in it, there won't be anything left in his tomb after ten thousand years. Just dust, and actually by that time the DNA itself might be gone as well. Also, the Legion of the Damned could always show up and personally kick back the Tyranids if worst comes to worst.

They can however tie your organs up.
Can't really "fight" the Legion of the Damned when you can't kill any of them due to being immortal ghosts/daemons, and they can ignore everything you shoot at them. Sadly for you, you however can't ignore everything they fire at you. The Legion doesn't fight people, it butchers them.

Legion of the Damned are unofficially the Lesser Daemons of the Emperor, yes. There are, theoretically, somewhere between one and fifteen hundred of them, however, compared to the zillions of Chaotic lesser daemons, because they're more like minor Daemon Princes than true Lesser Daemons, being Space Marines who have ascended to the status of Warp Entity.

Unlike lesser daemons however, they're night invincible against non-psykers and can't be punted back to the warp.
Although it's possible their numbers could be increasing. The Talon of Horus makes it seem like all the hubub of the Emperor actually providing an afterlife as an imperial daemon some salt to it, and how the Emperor likely visited a Dark Angel for weeks while recovering from wounds that led to him being interred in a dreadnought. So while the Flame Falcons probably were the initial members, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Astartes after that point would join their ranks post mortem. In the book Legion of the Damned bolts pass clean through them and the Legion kills so many sodding Khornate Chaos Space Marines, Khorne Daemons, and Khorne zombies/cultists, it creates a literal ocean of bodies so bloody thick that you could swim through them. They also butcher Khornate 'Zerkers from the Horus Heresy like they're street punks. The Codex for the LOTD also mentions that the Legion get banished when fighting Eldar, not killed or destroyed.
They're pretty much just Imperial daemons like that one inquisitor believed. Only unlike Chaotic daemons they kick a lot more ass.
