I'd like to see a non-painted version. The paint job on that is pretty mediocre so I suspect it is creating some flaws. Then again, it is sort of a meh model aesthetically to begin with, so I am not expecting much overall.

Dunno if this is the place to ask, but has anyone heard plans for the rumored prepainted Bones campaign on Kickstarter? I

Might want to ask again on the Reaper forums (: but that project's (Legendary Encounters?) been pushed back with no date announced (?).

Reaper's working with the Conan prepainted miniatures game (remember that KS a few months ago?) and I'm not sure which prepainted figures they're going to KS first.

i'd sure like to know!

Some more metal rolling out...

A mighty Space Marine Chaplain marching to battle in his artificer armor, his mighty Crozius Arcanum at his side.

Two Skaven Plague Rats preparing to do battle with Stormcast Eternals.

A mighty Seraphon Eternity Warden prepares to confronts the Bloodbound

A Sea Slayer Stryfe Serpent rises from the depths

And finally a Sigmarite Stoneheart Warsister in both her resting and active modes.

Wow.

Reaper is really milking that Chapter House decision for all it's worth huh?

2E? naw. For me, OD&D or AD&D 1E. But 5E is surprisingly good. If I had a nickel for every time I saw a paladin alignment discussion I'd be richer than D. Trump. I'd have better hair too. Seriously, read about the inspiration for the Paladin class (Charlemagne's 12 Paladins). Then you'll understand. Lawful Good is not at all what everybody thinks it is. (hint: it ain't 20th-21st century morality in any way.)

Interesting stuff. Reaper needs to show more painted versions of their minis.

I always thought 1/2 orcs and 1/2 elves were just dumb. Pandering to the LotR crowd. But I suppose they need minis too.

why is it dumb? and howis it pandering to LOTR fans? Are there any half orcs/elves in LOTR?

No Half Orcs, But Elrond and his brother Elros were Half-Elven. Also a few more from the Silmarillion. But they were not a race in LotR. They typically had to choose to be elven or human. Half Elves as a race is a DnD thing.

And they are back with more models and more METAL

First off there's a whole group of figures that, really are just in bad taste. Exploitive and unrealistic, skinny aneroxic bodies with skimpy outfits, bare midriffs or sometimes wearing nothing at all.

Honestly it's stuff like this that makes this hobby embarassing for men and women.

Spoiler:

Next is a line of personifications of the seasons, in this case winter. Which for some reason they released in April...

I expect the other seasons such as Hot, Monsoon and Pollution will follow in time.

Next up they have an Anti-Paladin.

Am I the only one annoyed that in the English language with all it's kajillions of words and more being added all the time, no one has thought of a better word then Anti-Paladin?

Here we have one of the classic monsters from the lower plains, if I recall correctly this one is called a Hook Horror.

And finally something a little different.

An elf! With a bow!

But that's not the different part, it's a bas relief rather than a model. I wonder if Reaper/Hobby Q is trying out a new market? Odd subject to go with though. A unicorn or dragon would have more mainstream appeal. Maybe it's just an artist's whim and a one-off.

Try Blackguard. Or Villain. Even better, Donald Trump, or Hilary Clinton.

I think it might be an ice devil.

That is some nice paint work on the folds of "Winter's" gown. And on the maybe ice devil.

You can't blame them really. Apparently, skeletons without clothes outsell clothed ones 4:1 according to industry representatives. Reaper's just listening to the market.

Their Spirit of Winter figure is followed by the Spirit of Spring

I'm not really feeling this series but she's a nice looking model if you need a peasant girl sort of thing.

I won't ask why she's pulling up her dress. This is a family board after all.

Honestly I don't like it, this sort of undead figure always leaves me aghast.

Remember in the old Dungeons and Dragons Cartoon Venger had the Shadow Demon as his side kick. That was a great idea, just a shadow who'd spy on the kids (to justify why Venger showed up) then reported back to his boss so Venger would have someone to monologue/exposite to.

Well this doesn't look anything like that guy. Cool model though.

Say... anyone making a board game that needs some bird men?

And finally... a mother's day Mousing.

Awww...

Though if I were buying I'd go with this one

Y'know, if Mother's Day wasn't a week ago or whatever.

Mother's day is on different days in differrent parts of the world though. They have missed the american date (and most other nation's) but there's still time left before mother's day in Sweden, Senegal, Costa Rica, South Sudan and many more.

Ooh, I like that one. The rest not so much, too chunky, but paint that blue and you have an Avatar of Molag Bal from the Elder Scrolls.

Pity shipping is horrendous from them to the UK. :/

A lot of this stuff is definitely from the Bones II Kickstarter, but now in metal.

I backed Bones II and Bones III, and was one of the aforementioned mildly grumpy international backers on III. But the deal's so good, you just have to go for it really.

Don't they do free worldwide shipping on non-KS stuff over a certain $ value, anyway? I think they did last time I looked.

Anyway. Bones, to my mind, is a superb material for minis. It's cheap, and it's a joy to paint. I don't quite know how much of the latter point is due to its cheapness, and how much is a property of the material. But it's lovely to know that that enormous monster you're painting only cost you $3 in a Kickstarter instead of $30+ in a fancy resin kit. No worries if you mess up the paint job a little. As others have said, it's particularly good as stuff to paint with younger or less experienced painters.
