That's actually a pretty good idea. I'll have to weave some fluff to explain why one is in a Farsight army, though.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Easy peasy - he's a prisoner being forced to help the army, he defected from the more mainstream Tau worlds, or he's there as an emissary to show a particular Tau government cell that Farsight is actually invited back into the Tau fold. There's endless fluff options.

Almost done with the first pass of the basecoats. Still need to decide what to do with the demon head.

Looking back at the proof pics on the first page, there are 5. A few chaos sorcerers, but they hardly count.

So not -that- many, and a good mix of power armor, terminator armor, and chapters.

I’d paint a farseer, but I’m fresh out of filthy xenos witches. Although if I dip into the old lead, I could probably paint a different wizard/shugenja/finger-wiggling mage type every month for a couple of years.

I know an ethereal was suggested, but you could do a magic figure from another armour being crushed/maimed by a Farsight Tau member. The theme is so open to interpretation you can do a lot of things. Having a mini dio or interesting base with a magic being included is a good way to tick the boxes.

Reminds me of an old running joke from a Shadowrun campaign. "The .45 caliber dispel” Some mage type would get ready to do some magic mumbo-jumbo, and the jacked-up street samurai would put a tight cluster of bullets through his brain before he could get the spell off.

In this context, I can see the Tau, who have no real connection to the warp, dealing with enemy psychers the same way.

alright, i'm here...
let's get this party started!!!

this magical theme seems a perfect time to get this bust painted up...

Warmachine Cryx Warcaster Skarre Ravenmane

this is the first bust that PP has released...
it's a limited run of 500, so if you like her, get on over to the PP site and order her...
when Ron, the head of the studio, sent me this one a couple of months ago, he told me that there were less than a hundred left...
it should be close to selling out by now...

i haven't painted a bust in 15 years, so it will be fun to try my hand at it again...
lots of room for fun skintones, and detailed eyes...

cheers
jah

nice bust, with a great rack

no, really, that is one of her melee attacks in the game

there have already been some great paint jobs done on this model, so i have a lot of inspiration to draw from...
i'm looking forward to bringing her wry expression to life, as well as trying an unusual skintone, and weathered coat...
really capture the essence of Cryx...
can't go wrong with the Pirate Queen of the Broken Coast

cheers

How big is it?

website says she is 3.25 inches tall, so about 10 cm...
i don't know which minis you have that i could easily compare her to...
she's pretty much the perfect size for a bust, not too big and not too small...
the Nuts Planet Vikings Shield Maiden bust is about twice as big, and 10X more intimidating, thanks to the larger surfaces...

the puck that she's photographed on is 55 mm...

cheers
jah

just checked the store page for it (link) ...3.25 inches (about 8.25cm)...I mean, I guess that seems about right for the price...but...I was thinking it would be bigger, like, a good double that size (with a price to match, naturally)...I dunno, I've never painted a bust before, maybe that size works out about right?

*haha, ninja'd by jah ...though that also kinda answered my question

I may have to throw my hat into the ring for this one.

Either my terminator Libby or something Tzeentchi from Silver Tower. Maybe Jensus Natorian from DWO. Ugh so many options.

Well, it's my cup of tea. But my Pegasus kind of baffled everyone so who knows.

It's one that will need a "for scale" figure.
