Wondering Why the Emperor Left
|
Abaddon without exception. He has single-handedly done what even Horus couldn't do, and he has barely started his Black Crusade. The Imperium is blind, deaf, and falling apart. Most people crap on him because it's the cool thing to do. Most of the folks who've actually read his lore and of the Black Legion understand just how monumental of a figure he is. Before Talon of Horus I was already in love with him. He refuses immortality because it would stem his ambition. Most villain's ambition IS to be immortal, and he sets it aside because it would slow him down! He is wielding Drach'nyen.
Abaddon transcends the typical Chaos Lord or Sorcerer Lord in that he is not only unyielding in his hatred of the Imperium, but that he truly hates the galaxy itself. The Black Legion are united by a brotherhood Abaddon forged. They have a loyalty in him that the Traitor Legions haven't seen in millenia. Abaddon didn't fail twelve times, he managed to SURVIVE twelve wars with the Imperium. The fact that he is not dead after ten thousand years is itself an accomplishment, the fact that he did so despite openly accepting all challenges, not hiding in the dark reaches, and actively working against the Imperium is damn near miraculous. He is charismatic, powerful (physically and politically) and highly motivated.

All three characters have given me strong desire to start armies with them in them... though it has never happened. Reasons have all been gone over, but yeah... Lukas the absolute badass.

But I think the one you are thinking off is just a random Carni from Liavthan, (and it was a exterminates, not just any orbital bombardment) Not the Classic random Carni from Behemoth, that keeps running around Ultimar causing trouble.. but then again with nids their characters are just strains... so can be anywhere and be multiple of them at once... Like Red Terror being described as being the size of a Ravenor all the way up to a Mawloc

As of Primogenitor, my new favorite character is officially Fabius Bile.
On the surface he seems like a machine completely devoid of any emotion, but he'll tell you that beneath it all he's just doing what he thinks is best for humanity. He looks at humans not with contempt, but with hope. He's trying to create peak humans, maximizing humanity's genetic potential. He hasn't even embraced chaos. He wants to show the galaxy that humanity itself is the greatest power. He's the "Humanity, Yeah!" character.
Also, if Games Workshop decides to acknowledge that Kaldor Draigo's mind has been eroded by the warp and is basically a raving mad man that appears in the middle of daemonic incursions, I may just have to go with Draigo instead.

"Orks believe I have an evil eye?... gimme one so I can put the fear of the emperor into them because now I do."
"Shoot, my arm got cut off after I beheaded a warboss, graft that powerklaw onto me so they are terrified."
"Oh, I just got killed? Lemme tuck my organs in and dust off my jacket, I have Orks and heretics to kill."
One of the few non superhumans that has Eternal Warrior I believe.
He is one seriously tough old man. To put into perspective for other readers; He retired and moved to Armageddon before Ghazzy''s first invasion let alone being there to defend the planet some 57 yes later during his second invasion.
But allow me, if you will, a bit of a moment to put together a path of logic that convoluted as it might seem if you follow you might find rich rewards.
During his first invasion of Armageddon, Ghazzy outmanouevered and took apart the Imperium with the use of well coordinated tactics far beyond what the Imperium expected of Orks. Yarrick at hives Hades greatly impressed Ghazzy by constantly countering every attempt to break into Hades and not just counter but in such ways that would make Orks punch their fists in thevery air and yell (had they not been at the receiving end of it). From this point on he considered Yarrick to be Orky and he'd soon get a chance to prove and preach this to the boyz).
They met again and fought again. Can't exactly remember if Golgotha or Piscina...Anyways this time Ghazzy got the Old Man and took him as prisoner. He made a speech to his Orks that Yarrick wasn't just a normal squishy human but rather very 'ard like an ork and he'll prove it. He kept tossing Yarrick into certain death situations while yelling his boys that not only will he survive where none of the other prisoners could but he'll also come back straight to Ghazzy looking for a proppa fight. Sure enough he keeps surviving and goes straight for Ghazzy intent on killing him but getting grabbed by Ghazzy again (he may be an ork but I'm da biggest ork dere iz). Once his boyz were convinced Yarrick was Orky he let Yarrick go free but not before telling Yarrick to return to Armageddon and prepare for the biggest fight.
Next. Ghazzy is an interesting anomaly amongst Orks. Not for being a tactical genius by human standards since we know of other Orks described the same way; The Beast, Nazdreg, and Baddrukk for example. What separates him is that he is actively aware of Orks gestalt psykic field and appears to use/cultivate it's effects no doubt thanks to Gork and Mork (whom we now know have chosen Ghazzy and Mary Sue him). It's been written that he'll purposely keep fights small to keep the waaagh! energy from attracting too much Orks and thus enemy attention while he trains his lootenants and tests new tactics. He can concentrate and know the location of large concentrations of Orks across massive galactic distance (later being able to see/hear/speak across the galaxy at such concentrations). Currently his main goal is to build up enough Waaagh! energy to summon Gork and More.
In conclusion. I believe Yarrick is the fluff example of Ghazzy understanding how the ork gestalt psykic field can effect reality if enough Orks in concentration believe it. So now here we have Yarrick who is some 60 yrs past retirement and just can't seem to die. EW rule on him is awesome. Lol not even Typhus got that rule. I assume Ghazzy has it because Gork and More protect him. A senior citizen human having it is boss. Orks believe he can kill with a look so then he goes and gets his eye turned into a laser thus inadvertently making ork belief true (or compelled by the gestalt psykic field...). He attaches a fetching ork klaw to his seversed arm and it ends up working! No not an Imperial prototype copy. He took it from the warboss he killed in the same fight that he lost part of his arm. Aside from not being green only thing left he needs to do to be true ork is grow to the size of a nob.
tl:dr - doesn't make sense how gak gets so high up the wall above the toilet.
Damn. Where did you read about this?

There are alot of good characters in the series to choose just one. There are also a lot in the games and books as well as the Horus Heresy. But I think the honor of my favorite character would have to go to Tu'Shan the Chapter master of the Salamanders. What I like about Tu'Shan so much is that he is said to be the embodiment of what it means to be a Salamander. He is very strong even for a Space Marine but at the same time he is a nice guy that would go out to give his life to defend civilians. Overall Tu'Shan is what a Chapter maste character should be, a representation and the ideal of what their chapter is all about and Tu'Shan is everything that makes a Salamander, a strong warrior that has a heart of fire and compassion for the average human. That's why he's my favorite Warhammer 40k character. Honorable mentions:Kharn,Farsight,Grimaldus,Gorgutz,Taldeer,Lilith,Yarrick.

Difficult. I'd be between Argel'Tal and Kharn. Both are chaos members and important figures of their legions (Curse you, Erebus, for killing poor Argel -_- ) and both are pretty aware of the failures of his Primarch and legion. I love to have non-pure-evil-guys in the most bloody and gore legions in terms of brutality and methods. It really allows chaos to have depth and a reason to be.
Edit: Grammar. XD
