So it seems we’re getting some ridiculous looking AdMech stuff that I really like and what is almost definitely gonna be a new Ghazkull. If his new model is anywhere as good as Abbadon’s was its gonna be an instant win for model of the year

Angels of Death is shaping up nicely, as well.

That's not Tyrion it's Eltharion

Meh, all those elves look alike...

But, ahem, yes, that guy.

A bit bummed we don't get any new lizards but that throwaway comment about them becoming the Coalesced is interesting. Maybe it'll be some sort of reptile crossing the rubicon?

Zoat was a pleasant surprise. Hopefully it's price sticker won't be.

Light of Eltharion looks like a cool idea even if it does look like a bit of a repose of Drazhar.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

So shadowsun and greater good in Feb, saga of the beast and makari in March, and engine war and admech in april.

Terrifying Doombull

Ok, wow. Blown away by the Ad Mech models. Been mulling them as a new project and honestly sold. The riders have quite a few weapon options. Sixgun cyborgs seem almost a cliche, but they pull it off well.
Basing the flyers will be tricky. No way am I using those terrible flight stands.

'Pteraxii' and 'Serberys' names need to die in a fire though, as is stuffing this in a PA book. Ad Mech vs Daemons is an... interesting choice.

Makari video was excellent.

Pointy Elves are keeping their proper name, as the 'real one' is stupid. As is Teclis and his weird... thing. The armor, infantry and cav are excellent though.

[Random asides- lot of rumour engine pieces here, even for things that don't match exactly. The fan hair from the other day is the same style, and the tassles on Teclis' staff match a significantly older one]

Lizard book is interesting- shame at the implication that they're getting nothing but scenery.

Female Nurgle sorcerer. Huh. Nicely hideous models all around.

Eh on random (certainly overpriced) Blackstone Zoat. Though the adherence to the old model/art is pretty impressive.

Angels of Death clip was dull.

-----

Some good stuff here. Looking forward to the Ad Mech and Pointy Elf (barring Teclis the Falling and whatever is wrong with his face).

Pteraxii? Absolute gold. Love 'em.
Robo-Horsies... not so sure.
Ornithopter? Still on the fence.

Where is the Tech-Priest Manipulus?!?!?!

Ghaz looks ace, from what we saw. I actually exclaimed "MAKARI!!!" out loud when he appeared on screen. Nice twist with the preview. Looking forward to that.

"Vanari Auralan Wardens" is another long winded silly name, but the minis are pretty cool. The Spearmen are great, the cav look stylish, and the suit of armour guy is fun. Teclis isn't riding atop a mass of swirly bull gak for a change, but instead another Kingdom Death reject. Very strange design that I find very interesting.

That Lizardmen Ziggurat... hot damn. That's another piece of terrain I'll probably end up getting. It should work in my Death World table as it's already pre-vine'd.

The Nurgle Underworlds gang is ace. I want them.

And then... wow... seriously there was someone in the Rumour Engine thread that said "Maybe it's a Zoat?", and I'm sure that many people like myself just said "Oh please! That'll never happen.". Well... it did. We're getting a plastic Zoat. It'll be in a no doubt absurdly overpriced BSF expansion, but it's still a plastic Zoat. I'm truly amazed at that.

FW updated books for 8th Ed? Oh please FW! Make my Hierodules suck less. Pretty pretty please!!!???!!!

More HH? Ok, fine. White Scar guy has a fancy helmet.

And then Angels of Death... boy. That voice acting. Yikes... Maybe it sounds better in context and with more sound editing/mixing?

I do not know how to feel about the mechacavalry.
Right there with you. On one hand, the riders look cool, on the other hand, the robo-horsies seem out of place given the rest of the AdMech army.

But yeah Pteraxii for the win!

The cavalary elfs though... Magnificent!!
I'm going to have to pay an arm and a leg for those heads for converting some Eldar though lol.
The elf spearmen I think Id cut the plums off entirely or replace the whole head with shadow warrior heads. Think that be cool

The admech stuff is not my cup of tea... Mech horses and da vnci wings... I don't get this direction of asthetic/design at all.
Its like SM tech is moving forward at a rapid rate with fancy grav tech seemingly just raining from the skies while ad mech are flying "da vinci "things and mecha horses.. I don't get it but agaib.. IF people like it to hell with it.

I'm most intrigues by the new FW indexes... The wraith seers I have been building might just end up on the shelf lol.

Honestly I think the AdMech robo-cavalry are some of the coolest models they’ve done in a while (and I like most stuff they put out).

Ghaz looks awesome so far. The three-fingered claw looks brutal. About time he was redone.

Aelves look pretty cool, the Sphinx is the best part.

Seems like no new models for Lizardmen which is a shame, but the terrain piece is awesome (and also presumably the Astrolithic something or other that was on a shipping manifest late last year with the Warcry cards, lending credence to the shipping manifest stuff that’s been dug up in the last couple of days).

Nurgle underworlds team looks pretty good.

The Zoat looks fantastic. The armour and weapon have a cool aesthetic. Only thing I don’t like is that it’s tail is the rumour engine that could have been seraphon.

Qin Xa looks cool, love the helmet.

Angels of Death is looking good.

Shame there was no Titanicus, Aeronautica etc, but this was a pretty big reveal.

So, is Kill Team dead then? Outside of the annual (which was largely reprinting stuff), it hasn't had a decent release in a while (the new starter set? Does that even count?) and it doesn't look like anything is coming soon.

(I'd rather see a new edition of Kill Team than 40k)

I think the Admech stuff looking like davinci is on purpose. Imagine(in universe) that you (a techpriest) some how come upon the wiki page for davinci. your robot parts start to tingle and 1500yrs later...bam, here's some 40k-ified "creations" that closely resemble themes and ideas from whom they surely would consider a genius. I wish they would do more nods to real engineering principles.

Although, I have to say I really don't like the Admech, they are just so far off from what I imagined reading lore and books for 30 years... always pictured them more on the blanche end of things, but the kind of 'retro idea' theme they have just isn't cutting it for me at all. Everything else looks pretty rad.

Yeah this is pretty much where I am these days - the studio guys just seem to have a very specific concept in mind for Mechanicus, and it's not the one that the pre-model range books & stories built up in my mind. Too much Raygun Gothic, not enough Actual Gothic, for my tastes.

The birdmen would be cool, except that I get really put off by the style they've decided to go with for "admech flying stuff" in terms of the wings. I don't know why, it's just offputting for some reason. Maybe a less Studio-style paintjob will sort them out.

The riders are just odd, conceptually. Like, if you're going to do a crazy cavalry unit for AdMech, why not do centauroid Sagitarii? Instead they just did Cyborg Cowboys, which is a fine enough idea in isolation, but seems out of place in an ostensibly highly regimented military force. Also the posing is...off. The riders are mostly static, while the mounts are wildly animated. Maybe that was meant to be an intentional choice, but it still wasn't a good one IMO.

EDIT: Thinking about it, I have the same issue with this stuff as I do with the flyer - it all looks very "bespoke" and individualized, there's nothing that really feels industrial or mass-produced about them. Too many soft, rounded shapes, not enough angular grime. Like, these are all things I can see a Techpriest making, but churning them out as standardised military units seems not quite right.

What exactly were you hoping for with KT? More books....I think that is the last thing the game needs. Cause right now it's always a debate on what we're gonna play, 100 pts, elites or commanders. I really don't think we need a fourth choice.

The basic elves and eltharion are ace, but teclis is a total disaster. Doesnt even seem like him and that kd reject (hbmc trademark) are the "same" miniature. Look like a poorly done kitbash.

Still, its probably the only fail of the release, and i think that if you separate both of them they would be alright

New AdMech was a surprise. I think its fair to say that cyborg Rough Riders with face mounted flamers wasn't something any one was expecting Still it makes me wonder about there next book. After Engine War that's seven new units without a Codex?

The Lumineth Realm-lords are certainly a mouthful But the models look good, the empty armour effect on the hero is especially cool. Teclis is an impressive display piece but I wouldn't fancy gaming with him.

The Zoat is Really, really interested to learn more about this guys background. It looks like GW may have moved them away from the RT era Nid bio tech in favour of alien cybernetics? But just like UR-025 my main question is, full army when?

Teclis is a joke right? Seriously no idea what the hell happened there..

Rest of the reveals are ace - one of my gaming buddies is a huge Ad Mech player and very happy with the new models.

There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.

Pteraxii are awesome, but gw just stop it with these new flying twigs. Classic peg and hole worked so much better for infantry sized models.

Don't be rude to his girl/boy friend!

Anyway.
1) Hysh elves are fantastic, but again on 32mm bases, so these long spears better give them good reach.
2) Lizardboys...well, the terrain is nice, but a little disappointed we're seeing no new models at all.
3) Surprisingly I find myself liking the admech models. Not enough to buy anything 40k, but I do appreciate them.
