Wait! It's not thematic to have a plan for next month!

It’s not thematic to tell anyone about your plans. I expect everyone to be cackling like a mad supervillain in their lair right about now. Surrounded by sprue and shavings, bits everywhere. Going on about how the fools will soon know their genius.

Or sitting in some black-op briefing room. Meticulously going over maps and patrol patterns, ready to unleash hell on some poor unsuspecting base.

Or so many other options. Who knows what it will be…

It’s going to be a surprise…

Well, I for one will not tell myself what I'm up to. Take that, me!

I will neither confirm nor deny that any mad giggling is involved in the process.

I finished my entry, so I'm contemplating another model to make it a full five. I guess now it depends on how well the painting stage goes

I bet it's either the Burt Reynolds moustache or the fact that he's cross-eyed, both of which are consistent features in the Japanese paintings I used for reference.

Yep, it’s the moustache, having flashbacks to Nosferatu….

To be fair, some of those Japanese warrior masks are extremely unsettling, but guess that’s the point!

My entry is finally completed. She looks much beter with painted eyes. To follow the theme of this month, the base was printed on FDM printer and the stone pattern on top is made of cardboard .

Hopefully get him finished in a day or two, having to take photo's with phone flash as my little painting lamp over heated and died sadly and don't have a daylight bulb, need to get one soon.

On to the base now. Almost done. Snapped the crozius off, but fixed it. I knew it was a weak point when I went with the easy weapon swap instead of taking the whole hand off.

Chaplains need to have jump packs, but GW’s slacking on making a new primaris one. So an ETB assault intercessor and a deep roll in the bits box yielded this guy. Not 100% happy with how he turned out. Leaning a bit too far forward, some soft details showing the ETB base, should have gone with a bare head. But he’s done, and can lead lead the assault intercessors with JPs I just finished building once they get paint. Whenever that may be...

You're too hard on yourself Nev, I think the chaplain looks great

My Termagants are done for "Frugal". To recap, Not only are they the cheapest model per base in the Tyranids 7th Ed. Codex, but I got these when I bought a Space Marine Board Game on Clearance. On top of that, about half of the miniature paints I used are homemade from inks, which are cheaper than official miniature paints

Would Boomdakka Snazzwagon (that is one of the Ork cars) be good for the next month theme? As a fast vehicle it can outflank the enemy and attack in unexpected place, but is it enough for the surprise?

Sounds fine to me.

That’s a good reminder that the month is almost over, so wrap up what’s on the bench now and start prepping for next month. If you need the extension, feel free to ask!

Sorry Nevelon, but your chaplain looks awesome to me. I think it came together really well.

A Protoss colony world

Got these done a couple of days ago, but just now decided to drag out the lightbox. Here are my finished Tomb Kings Skeleton Warriors:

Just a quick and dirty contrast paint job honestly, nothing fancy and I don't expect to get many votes, but I did get something done that I think will fit the theme.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Lots of ground to cover.

It looks great, especially for the FDM print. Did you use something to smooth the surface and to make the layers less visible?

Thanks! She's pretty smooth on camera-facing surfaces, and the primer helps that, too. There's plenty of 3D-printness you don't see.

Dragging this month. Will probably only finish the Black Ark, and may need an extra day for that.

We can do an extension.

Let’s see, the 31s is a Friday. So if we push back to the 1st, that will be an extra day, and a weekend one at that, for people to wrap up. I’ll formally close it Sunday morning over coffee. Which hopefully will be later than my normal morning posts (but no promises). For those pushing the wire, I normally hit Dakka over breakfast in the 6:00-6:30 range on work days, eastern time. Later on weekends, but my internal alarm clock doesn’t really have a weekend setting. Nor does the Fuzzy Mistress. Izzy has an automatic feeder, but still likes to eat together in the mornings, and will try to drag me out of bed to join her in the kitchen for meal time.

Looking great everyone

Almost finished the little necromancer

Noticed a couple little things to touch up and fix the sign hopefully get it finished tonight.

I tried painting with a daylight bulb I found locally but it wasn't very bright so decided to wait for the new lamp to be delivered, the weather in the UK was slowing them down but eventually got it last night.

Soooooo…..

Any chance I can throw in a random Space Marine at this late stage?

It’s a bog standard push fit Infernus Marine..

Kind goes with the frugal theme, from the point of view of as basic as it gets….

You can enter up until the moment I formally close the thread. Obviously, we’d prefer WIP updates throughout the month to help inspire others and such. We do however know how life works sometimes. If an 11th hour entry is what you can do, then get painting!
