Hmm where have I seen that before...
I like the MKII units. I was interested in the Japanese but the Commonwealth is looking pretty cool too.
I hope they redo those tracked robots though, they look pretty dorky to me. But then again, I could just...not buy them.

The AMPs are definitely a relic of earlier versions. I've got the AT one and game-wise it's been a bit meh so far - I was wondering if they were going to give either plastic Automated Infantry set an AT option. Model-wise it's OK - the body is one metal piece with separate metal arms, then the metal gun shield and resin tracks.
I want to try out the other 2 versions, but you need to run a Weapons Platoon for them. Hopefully they'll be a Robot Platoon that can take them.

I'm going to address both of these as Warlord actually did address it at some point and in a round about way again in the "Oops, the Ursus didn't work in Siocast, we can't really produce the Army Box" notification. The Siocasts were based on 3D prints of the CAD designs of the plastics to get the designs in the Army Boxes, which is why they're 1:1 identical and why the few Soviet boxes that were sent out to people contained 3d printed Ursus. Some of the designs were basically always destined to be plastic and the Siocast were/are a stopgap to get some of them out faster so there was new product on the shelves for 2nd Ed.

Oh man... I had a bunch of Warlord credit accumulated, and couldn't resist those robots. I bought a Bertie, and two of the Platoon Boxes, hoping I can run an almost all robot list!
Great new releases!

You have to believe that, like the Totenrotte and Firefly platoons, there will be Automated Infantry and Ursus heavy platoons in the future. With Bertie and the AI character being released and Drugov (and art with a more feral and larger Drugov in Festung Europa) already out they have named characters covered too.

Somewhat depends on how many Hunters it can bring, but yeah, Super Heavies will be an issue.

I've been using a Merlin to try to counter Linebackers / Kodiaks / etc. but it's not pulling it's weight IMHO - I'm going to look at swapping it for a couple of tanks for now. I also need a counter for Firefly flamers...

I know they fill a different role, but one local player never leaves home without 2x Hornets, and those are bananas. So strong for their points.

Yeah, the Hornet just looks ace as well. I am a big fan of the Hornet/Grizzly chassis.
My Totenrotte starter was delivered on Saturday. Really impressed by the Totenkorps sprues. Minimal mould lines and packed with bodies rather than too many other bits...but still enough to ensure there is variety across your 45 zombies. Some Thompson M1X arms fit the body of the Firefly zombie too so at least one of mine will be carrying one of those. Throw in being able to pull double duty in my Empire of Japan army and it is a win/win to me.

Automatically Appended Next Post: The front grey walker looks like a Hornet on a Percy chassis, but not sure about the three white ones behind it - new US chassis? Autocannon turret and a howitzer on top?

They all look absolutely sick. I love the current releases from the game, as almost everything is landing firmly in the quality category.
That hovering mega-Tesla-tank will probably be bananas.
Meanwhile, the value here is so strong. I built a 1500pt British list this weekend for less than what I am about to give GW for two Defilers... likely less than 33% of a proper list.

Love the look of some of the new releases, and especially non-Axis getting some focus (my worry was that they were going to be the 'space marines' of this game with everyone playing them).

A friend of mine will definitely get into the game if it has the very specific thing of robots wearing cloaks so I have my fingers crossed here
I'm picturing "Do you want to build a snowman" from Frozen, but it's you coaxing your mate with a song about robots in cloaks.
Something like that
Although now hoping that he cannot say no, as the very specific thing he wanted has had a miniature released!
Tell him there are people in the cold damp north west who are having to play this on their own because their mates aren't interested AT ALL. It's me, I'm the Billy no mates.

Managed to track down a box of the old Nachtalben. Not sure what it is about them (some sort of creepy 1980s Stephen King adaptation style to them?), or the new ones are painted in too bright a colour, but I think I prefer them.. Although I definitely think the new Totenkorps are an improvement, just with the variety of the kit.
