This month (June) my FLGS is running an apocalypse game. Last time they did an apocalypse game they limited it to 2k points per player... This time they said to bring everything you have

Damn, I love watching Apocalypse games. I'm slowly building up towards one atm, have like 6k worth of Tyranids so far lol, so I'm slowly crawling up there

Right now there is only 5 people signed up to play and all of them combined ar at abou 12,000 points. Its starting to look like its gnne be me vs all but as it is on the 29th there is still time for other people to sign up.

There are no Apocalypse games in California I have been able to find, at least not in my area. It kind of sucks because I love the big feeling of a battle, if I wanted small skirmishes, I'd have invested more into Warmachine, but the game makes me cringe at times really. Too rigid, less strategic, but that's another conversation.

What you should do, bribe your wife to record the games, then upload them!

PLEASE NOTE: Not all of my guys are painted or 100% put together. I have not put them all the way together because they are not done being painted and some areas are hard to get painted after fully put together.

How many points of Eldar is that? I have a phantom titan coming in mail so when it arrives ill have 20249 points. Unfortuantely it wont be here in time for me to clean it, and glue/pin it for the apocalypse game :(

Nonsense! you can never have too many minis >.> That doesnt even showcase my Bones miniatures, or the demons and devils i got or the dwarves and gnomes i got from stonehaven miniatures

Honestly mate, I understand that not everyone enjoys painting or likes the results they achieve. But it would look a lot more impressive if you had a third as much stuff and had spent the remaining budget on paying someone to paint it. What's the point of having a massive number of half-assembled or unpainted models? It's like boasting about your nice house, but in fact it's a pile of building materials, or an unfurnished shell.

Yeah I refuse to let someone else paint my Minis and will not pay for GW paints ever. I hand paint all my stuff (no air brush) so it takes time and with a wife 3 dogs and a full time job I will take what gameplay i can get and paint secondary. Its getting there slowly but surely.

painting can be a pain, but if your army was 2/3 smaller than it currently stands (which is probably a normal size force at that point) it wouldn't be so daunting. The game might be fun (I generally find those types of games are not, however) but it won;t be much to look at due to the sea of beige/white that will be on the table.

I'm not too familiar with the eldar codex (don't own the book, just own them on the table), but with larger games you are best off avoiding MSU, single model units, etc. etc. If you CAN put the vypers, wraithlords, combined squads to make shooting and damage allocation (for you an your opponent) less tedious, even if it is to your detriment.

At this scale the game is less about winning and more about having fun while looking at all the cool models on the table.

Very nice! My flgs is allowing us to do a 2 day apoc game over the July 4th weekend. I'll be bringing roughly 12k in GKs, maybe some more in random guard stuff I still have. I'd like to see pics as of your game.
