Brad Pitt might look awesome, Jerkilles does not. I just don't like that Space Marine-ish posing. That's so grim and dark 40000 not the gleaming future of Infinity

What could the Pulzar of the Symbiobeats do? Something like an 8" E/M weapon without LOF in analogy to the repeater of the most Remotes?

Do we think that the trophy was the new Morat sculpt Angel was working on?

No. He said he's actually working on a new Morat unit, and Bostria has confirmed that the sniper shot we saw a month or so ago was for a new Morat unit as well.

(Infinity News thread with some actual news in it? Hooray!)

Kerail Preceptors are the easy winners for me this month, lovely looking trio of models! The studio paint jobs are really, really eyecatching too.

At first glance I really like the look of the Ranger Force having not paid much attention to US Ariadna yet but then at least two of them look a bit bored or are posing at a convention for photos or something. I'm a sucker for action poses or at least that the unit in question is interacting with the environment, or looks alert at least!

New Achillies hasn't blown me away either. Why give him the Brad Pitt treatment? Makes it look instantly naff, for me. I can understand it might make the model for someone else, though. Helmeted headswap is a straightforward fix but I'll stick with the old one, ta.

Spektr and Father Knight, very nice indeed.

Adding Tohaa to my collection for sure, now!

Owning the USARF stuff myself, I can tell you that the two most bored looking models(the Foxtrot Ranger and the female Grunt) are actually the two most dynamic in the box!

The Foxtrot is meant to be used as a Forward Observer, and has his radio to his mouth.
The female Grunt is actually mid-reload, with her one arm pulling a fresh magazine from a leg pouch.

Would love the limited and non limited gear for Achilles, so I could magnetise the space monkey head for fighting morats and go double sword ray of the time.

Loving the new 'weapons only' version of Achilles.

And these are...er..."December's" releases, right?

I'm ok with the Brad Pitt model and definitely prefer the weapons only version. Is the whole holding up a severed head thing specific to the Troy movie? I saw it long ago but don't recall that specifically.

I like the exclusive head more. The character is a propaganda cartoon in the fluff afaik so the severed head isn't out of place.

I prefer the exclusive head, but I simply cannot stand severed heads or blood splattered weapons, I have never seen an instance that doesn't look naff.
(too many years working at a GW and seeing every 11-year-old's army awash with 2-3 pots of Blood Red, or whatever TM-able name it has now)
Hopefully the head will be separate and easy to swap (or simply replace).

I love both versions, 100% improvement on the old Achilles model too. CB smashing it out of the park again.

Which implies that it's going to be a full hacking device in its own right, but there's some bonuses there.

I saw this a while ago. Those upgrades are new too, so that'll be 29 hacking programs.

Father-Knight and Spektr win the month. I think it has as much to do with the official paint scheme as it does anything else.

Jerkilles. Okay. Recall if you will the Dire Foes sculpt of Angus. If you think about it, you may come to the conclusion that it is really the perfect pose for a tool like Angus. The same thing here with Jerkilles. This is exactly how a braying *donkey-cave* should look. The sculptor nailed it in one One quibbble: the severed head should be an Avatar's, not a Morat's. ( Remember the Campaign-Paradiso story?)

I agree 100%. Achilles wins this month easily in my opinion, with the Spektr a close second. I don't even play either faction. lol.

I'd normally be biased and like the USARF stuff first - but they are really just a re-pack this month. :/

Don't really care for the Tohaa dog-lizards (even with better pics), which remind me of Tigers of Dirz, but they are still nice quality.

I really dig that general release Achilles. The Homeridae are as much propaganda pieces as they are warriors and that looks like something straight out of a poster. Just whipped this up as an example:

Nice poster. So the two different Achilles models shown are two completely separate things? Not extra arms in a box? I was gonna say one with two swords woulda looked cool

I think he looks fine.

I like the spektr. I just wonder why he's up on such a large tactical...item... if he's planning on laying a mine?

That poster is very close to what I think of when I think of Achilles there.

I'd like to see the special edition head with the weapons only arms.

Apparently it's two models in one box, from what Beasts of War was implying.

Exact details aren't known yet though. It could be a "splash" release for the time being.

Yeah, just saw it on their Facebook. It'll be a two in one box available for a limited time.

I'm very tempted to get him, just because I really like the Hoplite armor.

So, not terribly familiar with aleph, can you field that guy twice? My vote for two swords returns.

You cannot field any character twice.

BUT you can field Patroclus, who if you remember the Trojan War mythos, took Achilles' armor and led the Myrmidons against the Trojans.

Patroclus is a character that can be fielded and has holoprojector, allowing you to 'disguise' him as Achilles--and this actually gives you a pretty fun way of doing so.

But you'll basically waste points, at least in a tournament.
Also Patroclus will have no use of his ODD for one order which propably will be fatal for him.

Still pretty funny in casual games though

Wait, that first model is an Ariadna tank hunter with a combi rifle? Did they used to have combi rifles back in a previous edition?

The new stats for Achilles in Hoplite armor. Must say that I find his profile very intimidating, especially the forward deployment on top of his already scary profile.

Being fairly new to the game, must I use this version of Achilles for now on? I sort of like the older version better.

No, it's like Joan of Arc from PanO, you can use her normal profile or the 2.0 version with mobility armor.

The older one is better.
Better pose, more character.
Not pretending to be Brad Pitt.

The celebrity nods are getting tedious.
Bring it back to the anime influence.

Can we get a side by side of the old and new Achilles? I want to see how ridiculous the size differential is.
