GW "battleforce" looks promising from an outsider's point of view. Fits the raider theme perfectly - got your jetbikes, your aggressive wyches, a venom, and the transport + HQ. Now all I need is a kabalite warrior squad for home objective holding and I got a nice 500 point force. Thoughts?

The Venom, Raider and Reavers (starting with 6 is great) are all auto-includes.
The Wyches and Succubus depend on playing style, but the Wyches are really lovely models.
So I think it is a good kit.

It is a good kit. I myself will be getting it once I complete my other projects .
Using Wyches will take some strategy of course. Very fragile , but one you get them in CC, they will hold down a unit that can cause trouble for the rest of your army.

When you total up the price of the things you will definitly want:
Venom
Raider
Reavers
you get pretty close to the purchase price of the combined box.
The wyches are of questionable usefulness. You could convert them into Warriors, which again are of questionable usefulness but they fufill the troop requirements better.
The succubus is also of questionable usefulness, but you can play around with her.
Still the succubus and the wyches, for what amounts to 6 pounds or $13.75, is amazing.

The two troop units boxes (Raider + Warriors or Wyches) seem like a better buy. Paying 100 USD for 7 more models is a hard pill to swallow. I think you would be better kit bashing an hq instead.
EDIT: Oops did not notice the Venom as its not in the picture but is in the description. Never mind. Totally worth it.

You save about $2.
Would be better to buy the boxes individually, since you can then pick and choose what you want in your army.

Killer Klaivex

Raider: $37.50
2x3 Bikes: $79
10 Wyches: $29
Succubus: $23
Venom: $30
Buy it in pieces is $198.50.
You will want to be using the raider, bikes and venom. ($146.50)
You just have to decide if the wyches and succubus are worth the $13.50.

I'd say they are.
Even if you are not playing them, at the very least its a BIG bin of bits for conversion, and as said, they can be made into other (more useful) units with some spare bits.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now. |
