I'm just curious, is there ever any mention of the Primarchs having wives/husbands, or mates of any kind or even being remotely interested in the human race regarding attractiveness and relationships? It seems like too big a part of human DNA for the Primarchs to just not have interest. Thoughts?

Being they were engineered as tools of war for the Emperor, any feelings of love or compassion in the role of a spouse would be a foreign concept to them so probably not. Also they're DNA was altered by the emperor apon creation so "human" in a sense is stretching it as a definition for a Primarch.

At the very least any feelings of such would be suppressed by their biology or by cybernetics.

However my money would be on Russ before any other Primarch given his worlds background.

You started this thread just to hear a Lion El'Johnson gay joke didn't you? Well there you go.

And no, there's no references I'm aware of of any primarchs being involved in relationships with humans outside of an adopted familial bond.

They were engineered to be war machines. Sex ain't a part of it, so they don't have it. Not sure why you are that interested in a Space Marine's genitals.

Pretty sure the only thing Fulgrim would bang is his reflection and that's Pre-Heresy... perhaps something akin to Henry Cyril Paget

Primarchs are completely artificial creations (unlike Space Marines, who were initially humans and then transformed into Astartes). I don't see why the Emperor would include sexual attraction (and reproductive organs, really) in their creation.

The Black Library is more chaste than a Disney film written by the Moral Majority. It has a ludicrous lack of sexuality pretty much everywhere. To nobody's surprise, the Primarchs are no exception.

Okay, thank you. I was just wondering, because I doubt that the Emperor (realistically) would have removed such a major stress reliever from a warrior's life. It seems to me, what with all of the stress of running Legions and/or several (in the case of Horus and sometimes others), that many of the Primarchs would have been less pissed off and depressed if they had mates. I mean, realistically, It seems like less Primarchs would have rebelled if they had had wives/lovers to counterbalance their fethed-up kill kill kill existences. There were only like 3 or 4 Primarchs who actually had interest in anything besides war - Sanguinius and Fulgrim loved art, Vulkan and Ferrus Manus loved smithing. Everybody else is just all killing and avenging my besmirched honor, you insulted the Emprah for that you must die, etc. etc.

Also, this is not a purely sexual thread, I just wondered if the thought of having a significant other would even pass through a Primarch's mind.

Why do you need them to be having sex?

It wasn't about sex. it was more along the lines of a wife. I was just curious, it was less about them having sex, it was more along the lines of having a positive and loving relationship with people that isn't familial.

I ammend my earlier post. 5 Primarchs who had passions besides killing - RUSS, Sanguinius, Fulgrim, Ferrus Manus and Vulkan.

Politically it would make sense in order to barter a peace treaty they could politically arrange for a woman or hell even a man to quell the problem and merge with the Imperium. I mean its not far off and would make sense to some degree. But considering how 40k divorces itself from reality so often I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even think of it.

So if it isn't familial, a loving and positive relationship has to involve sex?

To seal the deal usually.... Yeah.

In Medevil times, the couple was FORCED to have sex to consummate a marriage.

In political marriages?

Ha 'friends'

These are warriors, would you really think it would be romantic?

I do have friends, family and lovers.

But rarely is a political marriage a happy one. Where the couple consider each other 'friends'
