Does anyone own one of these or ever seen one in person?
I'm trying to consider if it's worth shelling out $110 for the mat + shipping. The price seems pretty high for a big mousepad.

How is the detail on them? Does it look grainy or pixelated at all

Frontline gaming's mats are fantastic and they make really nice commission terrain (though I haven't had any pieces made myself)

I love them; own two myself and will buy a third if/when the ocean mat becomes available in the UK/EU webstore.

I bought the Urban one, and love it immensely. I've been using a 6x4 GW flocked-grass, very generic, mat for years, and while it is functional, the F.A.T. Mat just has a great table-presence, and looks like it'll last forever.
As a bonus... in a very sleek, unobtrusive way, the Urban mat also has all the deployment zones marked out for Dawn of War/Hammer and Anvil which is a little time-saver.

I have the alpine mat, it's very good. My only complaint is that it is a little darker than I would like. I like my snow to be a brighter white.

I also have the alpine mat and love it. As well as the space one. I think universally people have said these are worth the purchase price.

My FLGS has atleast a dozen of them. The arid desert one looks stunning. I had to put my hand on it to be sure it wasn't textured. The grassy path one is meh but isn't ugly by any means and I don't remember the urban. They stick to the actual wood of the tabletop amazingly well too. Good rubberized bottom.

We are buying and playing GW products. How can anyone complain about price? Let's put it this way. How much money would GW charge for this? $500? All we have to do is unroll and play. Anything you buy from GW you have to remember we pay for the privilege of putting it together and painting it before being able to use it. These are already assembled, coloured ready to go. So if thinking anything is expensive, just ask yourself, how much would GW charge. Now you will see these are really cheap. As you said you have used the GW cloth. How much did this cost? For me it was $40+. So look what you are getting now. Plus from what I hear it's high quality. Now my question is, is this spill resistant? I am not sure if it's this or another product where you spill your drink it will not stain and just pour off.

They're very high quality. A sizable chunk of the price is purely due to shipping, something beyond Frontline's control. Shipping large, bulky objects is inherently expensive.

My FLGS has the grass and urban one, they are very good. The details are not at all pixelated. They're pricey, but they make the table look so much nicer.

I got the Grassy Plains and Blasted Landscape ones and I have to say, they didn't disappoint! Sure Frontline are a bit expensive but the quality of their mats is excellent. They are quite a heavy gauge mat so it's virtually impossible for them to slide around. Automatically Appended Next Post: Yes. They ship to the UK. http://eustore.frontlinegaming.org/

I have 2, they are very nice. The detail is not remarkable, nor is it bad. Some of the FLG videos are HD and you pretty much get what you see.
I had a few friends painting on top of a mat. Something interesting, we were able to peel back the slops off the mat using an exacto knife, without hurting the map. There were stains that made the mat seem lighter in areas, and I was able to get them out with Simple Green.
I gave one to a friend for Christmas and it's now sitting on the floor of his son's room as the rug. It can also double in this role and still be playable over time.

like all have said.
Also its really durable and heavy enough it lays flat after being rolled up for long perionds of time.
while it may sound pricey, its far cheaper than any board and its portable.
Also FrontLine are stand up guys and deserve your support.
