I'm not even half way done... (still have most of the tac marines to do, the vindicators, honor guard, land speeder, bikes, two captains he scratch built, libby, honor guard, razors and the rhinos (minus the DC rhino) and we're just shy of 800 dollars... Let us not dwell on the cost of this army, and simply enjoy Eggroll's work...

Well, in terms of game points its about 5865 points.. NOW granted, I had to tweak the way the list reads based on the fact that both you and Eggroll don't play 40k, so these beautiful models don't need to follow standard WYSIWYG and FoC rules... so like the sarge of an Assault Squad has a power weapon and a hand flamer, but 2 marines in the squad have a Thunder Hammer and a Power fist... so I had to give a 15 point upgrade and the hand flamer to the marines in the squad, and then give the sarge a power fist and a thunder hammer... His Land Speeder is illegal in the BA codex because it can't take the Assault Cannon AND the Typhoon Missile launcher, so adding the extra 40 points puts us at 5905...

Like I've said... points wise, its hard to do because he doesn't have to follow FoC etc... but yeah... easily 6000 points of Blood Angels

Just been catching up. Nothing I can say that hasn't already been said in terms of the quality and quantity of work.

You've inspired me to get going on my own army. I'd love to have such a well painted collection to display. Your red is very similar to what I want for my Mechanicus. Too bad I can't find Dupli-color primer in New Zealand.

Thanks nerd. Unfortunately I will never take my army on the plane, just can't trust them with my luggage though I might be in the UK for a week or so for vacation this winter. Plan on going to warhammer world when I'm there!

Thanks Alf! Never knew how many points I had and I don't want to know the potential costs Hopefully once my army is done I'll be able to break the 10k point barrier.

Miss Dee wrote:If you are going to use Jump troopers are you going to give them the winged backpacks?

Not anymore, I'm just going with the wings for the sang guards. Don't have anymore spares for the rest of the assault or vanguard vets.

Thanks Earl! I hear that Army Painter sells red primer which should be very similar in shade if not exact.

Hmmm I've got tons at the moment and not sure which one to tackle next. There's the landspeeder left from the ravenwing box which I have assembled, primed and airbrushed that I can start doing brush work on. I also have a 5 man scout squad, 5 man sternguard and 5 man vanguard squad all ready to prime. Finally there are primed: a razorback and two preds waiting for the airbrush highlight/shadows. Lots of stuff...I'll probably end up picking up whatever strikes my mode next time I decide to sit down and do more hobby work.

Man... that is just... wow... and it's also pretty awesome you collect an entire army just to paint, not necessarily to play. I'm also surprised your army hasn't been showcased at GW's website yet... I just saw a Red Scorpion army from here, on there (forget whose)

Either way, if one should be on there... I'd suspect it's this one.

Thanks Remi. I might submit my army to GW once I finish all the figs I have planned for it.

Heh, will be awhile. Deux Ex 3 came out recently and that's been eating up all my free time (painting time). Also, since Space Marine is coming out next week it will probably delay my next models for awhile. You'll have to hold out a bit longer

Thanks Grey! I haven't even unwrapped my Stormraven yet. I think it will be awhile before I get a chance to get to it. Right now I'm working on 3 tanks - 1 razorback and 2 predators. Progress has slowed down for me now that school has started, I just started my first year of grad school and am still working at my normal job full time so things have been busy. Hoping the tanks will be done within the next two weeks though. Will post pics as soon as they are.

Stunning models Eggrol! real inspiration.

The Dupli-Color you use as a basecoat, can you recommend a Vallejo or any other brand similar that I can run through an airbrush? Cheers

Thanks guys!

Thamor - The only primers I know of that you can run through an airbrush are the surface primers from Vallejo. I actually use the black one quite a bit to touch up some models in places where a spray primer has a hard time reaching. For the surface primers, Vallejo has other colours as well - one of which is called German Red Brown. I haven't used it though judging but the picture > http://www.acrylicosvallejo.com/blog/2011/01/surface-primer/ it could be close in colour to the Duplicolor can primer. Might be worth a shot.

Should keep in mind the surface primers are not as durable as the primers you get in a spray can. They're acrylic primers and from my experience, don't bond to the metal/resin/plastic surface as well as the sprays. Think it has something to do with the fact they don't use as many of the harsh chems that you find in spray cans but at least they don't stink when you spray them.
