Tonight, wings begin tonight. Have to get the wires for theLEDs ran throught he body but will need the wings done so I know how long the wires have to be.....

Going shooting today. Nice new semi-auto assault rifle my friend has but won't tell me what it is yet........

Ok sorry but no pics of the shooting. i will tell you we fired several different AR variants and one SBR. We also fired a Kimber .45, a Glock 23, a Ruger .380 and a KalTec 40 cal semi auto. A wicked time was had by all. Especially when we placed the explosive targets and I dropped mine with the KalTec in one shot from 80 yards. I know the addage - no pics means it didn't happen, so cool.....


BUT I did get in a whole buncho neat stuff from the FLGS. our shop keep is consantly buying and being given a whole lot of old stuff and when i got tuere for FNM last niht hw had this

the ammo was equally rockin.... my buddies bought it all....


yeah most of the stuff is on the sprues.... Don't go expecting any Dave like stuff from me on it though. I intend to use it to make modular walls for the purpose of building a bunch of masters for mold.making..... i am starting a table this summer....

oh...one thing...that wing is pretty massive looking.... is it made from thick PC or is it boxmade? like having side walls and upper part and lower part? pic is sadly not giving anything away...

Vik, They are box built out of thin PC and needing quite a bit of detailing still...

Tha being said both of them are done (minus detail) and attached with all wiring hidden (except the tailfin wires) and the switch installed......

Yes, the little round thing is the switch.....

Yes I think they are a little but biggish but I am using the 3D image Blackadder posted as reference and must say that the bigger wings make it look more like an actual flyable craft. I am worried they may seem too thick....

Haha great work bud. A very clever way to hide the switch and all the lights look great, a fantastic touch. Only thing I noticed, which it's probably the picture, but the left wing (right side of picture) seems a bit shorter than the other. Again I assume it's the photo but mayhaps something to check if you still can.

Pics at an angle so it seems shorter. Trust me that was something I triple checked. Just like I triple checked that they weren't upside down or backwards like the last one....

i particularly like the little hole where you hidden the batteries... i thought horizontal would be the way< to go... but that way is far better...

as for the wiongs... with details they will look way better... what you could to is add a bit of a ...well...band .... to the sides... is that understandable? to take a way the blockyness of the wings... the thickness of the wings i like... after all from what i´ve heard the wings in our universe planes function as tanks as well...so need a bit of thickness to them...


oh and you do realize that those lit shots of the interior are totally mindblasting??? well they are^^

that open ramp is just screaming at you to discharge a platoon worth of fully clad and equiped marines ready to kick some serious buttocks^^

On the OG model; the wings are really thick. Blackadders model and those 3D reference photos look really good. I don't think it's fair to say an actual flying craft. Blackadders logic is based upon current tech and scientific understanding. Clearly nothing on the craft could provide lift in the traditional sense. I tell myself that the wings are merely for stabilization, lift is provided by some anti-grav generation somehow. The boxy design aesthetic of space marine vessels is what makes them cool.

Yes the edge of the wings is getting some treatment. I have to add in some detail layers on the top and bottom first but the edge will not be so blocky when complete......


I do understand about the banding. I like the thought buthoneslty from what I am using as reference I don't know if that will fit. I will look at it again because the oppurtunities to rivet abound with the idea of the banding......


That battery compartment was a royal pain in the arse to install.......

as for the banding... i think in the end you will find a good solution by yourself... it will present itself when you reach that phase...

I was trying to figure what you typed to trigger that, makes sense now lol.

I finished the armor plates on the wings and hope to finish the taiilfina and upper wings tomorrow.

i also hope to have the landing gear done by tuesday evening.

If so then with all detail and weapons considered i may have this done by this weekend.

er...mate? i don´t want to be a jerk? but aren´t the wings to be meant to be equal in design? there is a point where there should be three gaps and are only two... you probably know what i am taking off... the part that always looks like an angular sawblade on SM vehicles...right wing near the edge...

oh and don´t think i don´t like the new added detail... it looks very cool, and totally convincing to me... that IS a GW product^^

Yeah I know a piece broke off. it will be an easy fix but it made me angry. Careless slip with the exacto.

And thank you. I think I like it too but I worry about the engines looking right. i don't think i left enough room to do them he way I wanted to. May have to adjust my construction plan.....
